After about two minutes, his shoulders relaxed. She had been watching his every movement.
"Come here Marley," he urged quietly, finally turning around. She refused to look at him now, choosing the window instead.
"Marley come here."
"No."
He sighed. She heard the clicking of his seatbelt and recoiled when he hurried to the middle seat. He had moved his arm to circle it around her, but she shook her head.
"Don't touch me, Aiden. Don't touch me," she warned.
He moved his arm away and was careful to keep even their thighs apart. She turned back to look out the window, her eyes stinging.
"Marley-"
"What?"
"I'm sorry. I was acting like a dick." his voice was full of remorse, and she softened at the sound of it.
"I'm here to help you, Aiden. I'm here for you, and you're acting rude."
