Chapter 23: The Decision
Jafar al-Sharif left the audience chamber and ripped the facecloth from his head, tossing it angrily to the floor. He was disappointed that the prophet couldn’t promise him success, furious that Muhmad seemed to care so little about Selima’s life, upset that the seer had mistaken him for some powerful wizard—and not a little frightened by the path that had been outlined for him.
