Insatiable Desires

CHAPTER 9

Alexander's Pov

Twenty-three years ago

Alexander hide in his parent's closet as they argued. His mother cried as his father shouted at her. " Are you trying to make a fool out of me Elizabeth!?" Richard hissed under his breath.

" Keep your voice down Richard the kids might hear you and you know how Alexander gets when you shout," She said sadly. " Good I hope he hears every word, that boy needs to toughen up or he'll end up weak like you," he said.

Hearing his father's hurtful words Alexander bits his lips and pulls his knees up to his chest and closed his eyes wishing he was far away from this room. " If I'm not here maybe he won't be mad at mom and will stop yelling at her," he thought to himself sadly

" I'll never let you leave with him, do you understand how it would look in the press if my maid was seen living alone with my son, do you know what kind of damage a scandal like this could cause to a man in my position," Richard said angrily.

" I'm not asking for anything Richard I just want my son, so we can leave and live somewhere we can be happy," Elizabeth said pleadingly. " Happy! just leave but know this you'll get nothing and you won't be able to see Alexander again" Richard said slamming the door on his way out.

Elizabeth sobbed as she sat down on the ground weeping. " What am I going to do?" she thought to herself. As much as she wanted to leave she knew she couldn't abandon her son and leave him with this monster and his cruel wife.

Feeling trapped Elizabeth began weeping louder. Hearing a sad sniffle from behind her she turned around and saw Alexander standing there while clutching his teddy bear tightly to his chest as his eyes swam with tears.

" Oh, my sweet prince," Elizabeth said holding her arms open. Alexander didn't hesitate as he ran into his mother's arms while crying. Elizabeth continued to hold him as he cried despite ruining her maid uniform with his tears she continued to hold unto her son.

" Oh, my sweet boy I'm so sorry you had to hear that," she said looking down into his eyes. "You're not going to leave me are you mommy?" Alexander asked sadly as his bottom lip trembled sadly.

" Of course not I'll never go anywhere without you, your the most important thing in this world to me," she said wiping away his tears. " You promise?" he asked looking up into his mother's beautiful grey eyes. " I promise," she said hugging him close.

Present day

" I promise" the words of his mother rang in Alexanders' mind as he watched Richard approaching the woman who broke his heart and trust by sleeping with his older brother.

As much as he hated to admit it, Niome had grown from a pretty young girl into a mature and beautiful woman with a curvaceous body and beautiful red hair with dark green eyes. Almost all the men that she walked passed stared at her in her form-fitting red scarlet dress.

But to Alexander, her appearance didn't matter because the only thing that he see's when he looks at her is a wolf in sheep's clothing and he couldn't help but think that she and Liam deserved each other.

Alexander looked at them coldly as they approached. Richard briefly looked at Kayla before he looked at Alexander. " So the prodigal son returns" his father spat his words meant as an insult.

" What do you want Richard?" Alexander asked his tone clipped. Richard narrowed his eyes. " I'm your father boy and you'll address me as such," he said coldly. " Is that so?" Alexander asked then chuckled as he looked at Richard.

"Your no father of mine," Alexander said. Richard was furious at Alexanders' clipped answer. "Whether you like it or not your my son and you'll be wise to remember who your speaking to boy," Richard said coldly.

" Or what" Alexander challenged boldly while matching Richards's fiery glare with his own cold and emotionless one.

Looking around Kayla sat some of the guests had stopped to watch the confrontation and not wanting to give the paparazzi any gossip she decided to intervene before the situation could get any worse.

" It's a pleasure to finally meet you Mr Thorne," Kayla said. Richard looked away from Alexander and focused on Kayla. His eyes trailed down her body before he smiled and shook her hand. " The pleasures all mine," he said kissing the back of her hand.

His lips lingered making Kayla uncomfortable as Alexander glared daggers at him. "It seems my son has good taste in women your truly stunning I look forward to seeing more of you on the trip," he said finally letting go of her hand. Kayla gave him a polite smile before stepping towards Alexander.

" This is Niome Knight my daughter-in-law," he said introducing her to Kayla then turned his attention towards Alexander with a smirk on his face. " Alexander I'm sure you remember Niome ," he said with a wicked smile on his face.

Niome smiled at Alexander" Alexander dear it's a pleasure to see you after so long" she said with a smile. Kayla could feel the rage rolling off Alexander as he stares at her.

Various emotions battle for dominance inside of him as he looked at her. As if sensing his inner turmoil Niome smiled again. " I hope that we can become reacquainted after all as the best man and head bridesmaid we'll be seeing a lot of each other," she said giving him a dazzling smile.

Alexander cooled his expression into a cold and blank look his inner turmoil seems to have vanished. " No thank you, Niome, I'm with someone else so I'll have to pass we wouldnt want to cause a scandal" Alexander said while wrapping a hand around Kayla's waist.

Niome looked at Kayla with a barely hidden look of hatred in her eyes as she looked at Kayla as Alexander kissed the side of Kayla's head as she smiled up at him. He smiled at her then focused his attention on Richard and Natalia again.

"As you can see I'm not interested" he said cooly. " Oh that's unfortunate I had hoped we could become friends again," she said smiling fakely.

Alexander just nods as he began leading Kayla away from them both. As they maneuvered through the guests she couldn't stop thinking about their encounter. " Who was that?" She asked.

Alexander glanced at her " Someone you need to avoid" he said simply. " Alexander!" someone shouts excitedly the pair stopped and saw a beautiful girl making their way toward the pair.

She had beautiful dyed silver hair, with soft baby blue eyes and as Kayla studied her further she noticed that she had a striking resemblance to Alexander.

Alexander had a large smile on his face as he watched the young woman approaching. As she stopped in front of him she gave you a gentle smile before she lunged at him and pulled him into a tight hug.

Alexander hugged her close as he chuckled. " It's good to see you too Ari, he said as the siblings ended their embrace. " I'm so glad your here and with a date for once," she said looking at Kayla.

" You must be Kayla, I'm Ariana it's a pleasure to finally meet you," she said holding out her hand to Kayla with a smile. " It's nice to finally meet you too I've heard a lot about Alexander's favorite sibling," She said.

Alexander raised an eyebrow but said nothing as Ariana laughed. " I highly doubt that my grumpy big brother has anything good to say about me," she said.

" I'm not grumpy," Alexander said with a frown on his face, causing Ariana to laugh " You see what I mean, but dont worry you'll get used to him soon," she said. " Oh I'm sure I will," Kayla said looking at Alexander with a smile on her face, causing him to smirk.

Ariana looked between the both of them as a slow smile spreads across her face. " Aren't you two just the cutest?" she said as Alexander rolled his eyes.

" Alright, troublemaker enough embarrassing me for tonight save some for the wedding, and speaking of a wedding where is Sebastian?" Alexander asked.

" Oh he's giving an interview to the reporters over there," she said pointing towards the other end of the ballroom where a tall and handsome man was busy speaking with a couple of reporters.

He had dark brunette hair, with a strong and square jawline covered by a well-groomed beard, he wore a dark green suit that hugged his well-toned body perfectly. " Babe there's someone here to see you!" Ariana said getting his attention.

He glanced around and looked at them after muttering a quick apology to the reporters he made his way toward them with a large smile on his face. " Alexander," he said holding his hand out for a handshake.

" It's good to see you," Alexander said causing Sebastian to smirk." You've gotten old," he said with a smile. Kayla thought Alexander would be upset but instead he just chuckled. " And I see you haven't stopped telling terrible jokes," he said causing Sebastian to laugh again.

" Of course not you need some to put a little humor in your life," he said causing both men to chuckle. He then noticed Kayla and smiled at her. " And you must be the famous girlfriend I've heard so much about," he said shaking Kayla's hand. " It's a pleasure to meet you too," Kayla said.

While the three of them were busy interacting, Ariana was on her phone taking a phone call. " Alright dad I'll let them know," she said then hung up the phone. " That was dad he said the photographer from the New York times was here and she's taking the family photos in the dinning room" she said.

Sebastian nods then walked away with Ariana in tow. Kayla expected Alexander to leave her on the sideline as he went in and took the family photos but much to her surprise he held out his hand to her.

" Well are you coming?" he asked. " are you sure it's ok for me to come with you guys I wouldn't want to intrude on your family time" she said. Alexander snorted letting out a deep laugh. " As much as I wish I could stay out here Ariana would kill me if I didn't come and besides I need you to keep me from strangling Victoria" he said.

Kayla laughed before she took his hand in her hands. " Well if your sure" she said causing him to nod. "Of course I'm sure and besides if I'm going into that torture chamber in taking you with me" he said.

" Seriously though I can't wait for all this wedding s**t to be done so we can move on to the honeymoon" Sebastian causing Alexander to chuckle. " On that we can agree" he said as they entered the room.

But as Victoria saw Alexander she nods a pleased expression on her face but when she saw Kayla entering behind him her expression immediately soured.

" What the hell is she doing here?.
