Chapter 38: Gathering Life Skills

Li Xian is still on the stream as he looks at his status window. He smiles a few times as he looks at his attributes and his other status.

He had a lot of money.

Right now his desire for eating diminished a bit.

Before, he would never use up all of his money because he wanted to eat good food. But that is putting the cart before the horse.

If he is dead, how can he eat. The important thing is his strength first. After he is strong enough, then he could enjoy his food.

Thinking of this, he decided to keep the martial arts points first as he checks the other points he did not use.

One of them is of course his Life Skill points. Li Xian had notices something after completing quest.

Most of the quest that he had completed would give only meager amount of life skill.

Li Xian believes this has something to do with the fact that most quest is usually life and death quest where he did not use that much of Life Skill abilities.

But that doesn’t mean he did not use any of Life Skills.

After all, his proficiency in holding tools is also a side effect of mastering a few Life Skill and his powerful body is also because of the Life Skill enhancement.

Like always, Life Skill points is the one thing he would drain it to zero without hesitation. But it also has its use to martial path and also help him in making a life in this world.

After all, without the ability of hunter how could it be easy for him to master hunting in the forest and feed himself.

Thinking about it, Life Skill has its advantages if he wanted to stay in one place for a long time

There is five life skill in the gathering category and he had learned two of them which is the Woodcutter and Hunter

He decided to learn all three gathering skill all at the same time.

He checks the Farmer life skill and an explanation popup appears in front of his eyes

Farmer

The Farmer is a gathering life skill that allows the host to plant crops on farmland, raise silkworms, and process some food materials to create additional food materials through the system or manually. Any other related farmer abilities are also unlocked.

To learn the skill, the host must purchase Shennong Script in the System Store.  The price will depend on what other gathering skills the player has already learned.

Upon learning the skill, the player will receive the title Farming Novice and can perform the Farmer skills. To use the life skill, the player must have a hoe for planting crops and a tablet for raising silkworms in the host backpack.

This Life Skill would strengthen one muscle and physical power and increase one own ability to endure pain and toughen up the body and increase one stamina.

To raise the level of Farmer rank, either spend Life Skill points or accepts quest that would be given to rank up. To level up ranks by using Quest please notify the system. When one is performing Farming activities, Life Skill point will be added.

TIPS: To plants crops, the host must purchase the seeds form the System or find it by yourself or buy it from the people of this world. Seeds are special in that it did not need to be put inside the backpack and instead could be put in the system. The limit is ninety-nine seeds that could be put in the system.

Miner

The Miner is a gathering Life Skill that allow the hots to mine for ores and minerals from various mines located throughout the world and to smelt ores into metals that would complement the blacksmith life skills.

Host learn the skill by purchasing Torn Diary of a Miner in Bashu.

The price will depend on what other gathering skills the player has already learned.

Upon learning the skill, the player will receive the title Mining Novice and can perform the Miner skills. To use the life skill, the player must have a mining pickaxe in the host backpack.

This Life Skill would strengthen the host arm strength and body strength. And when the mastery and rank of this Life Skill reaches a certain level, there is a certain chance of triggering the martial art unique to itself related to the Life Skill.

To raise the level of Miner rank, either spend Life Skill points or accepts quest that would be given to rank up. To level up ranks by using Quest please notify the system. When one is performing mining activities, Life Skill point will be added.

TIPS: Mining carefully would increase host concentration and mental power.

Li Xian bought all the stuff needed for Mining and that cost him 2 Ding.

Now there is only one left out of the three. The Fisherman life Skill. He checks the status window for Fisherman Life Skill

Fisherman

The Fisherman is a gathering life skill that allows the host to catch fish locate throughout the world. Host learn the skill by purchasing Jiang Taigong Fishing with Straight Hook manual.

The price will depend on what other gathering skills the player has already learned.

Upon learning the skill, the player will receive the title Fishing Novice and can perform the Fishing skills. To use the life skill, the player must have a fishing rod in the host backpack.

The dissection skill would also be given free of charge to the hoist making the host able to slice and dice through all the fishes with ease.

This Life Skill would strengthen the host arm strength and cultivate a patient disposition and bring clarity to one mind.

And when the mastery and rank of this Life Skill reaches a certain level, there is a certain chance of triggering the martial art unique to itself related to the Life Skill.

To raise the level of Fisherman rank, either spend Life Skill points or accepts quest that would be given to rank up. To level up ranks by using Quest please notify the system. When one is performing fishing activities and caught fish, Life Skill point will be added.

Life Skill points rewarded would differ according to the size and the rarity of the fish being caught

TIPS: The resources gathered through fishing and dissection can be used by Chefs, Herbalists, and Poison Makers.

Li Xian bought the fishing rod for 1 Ding and now he felt slightly refreshed after looking at his Life Skill windows.

The list of Life Skill he learned also rearrange itself in the attribute windows as it now shows gathering life skill and below it the five life skill

Li Xian taps the stars and then a light exploded over his eyes and then he heard the noise of the system

[Rewarded with fifty thousand Life skill points]

The sound is like music to his ears as he grins widely

‘That was a pleasant surprise’ Li Xian thought to himself.

He didn’t know that by learning al of the skill of a certain category he could also be rewarded. But fifty thousand points is measly for Life Skill points. It cost a lot to ranks up Life Skill points and fifty thousand could not even reach the high level.

Li Xian just accepted it.

 After all, it is not that he did much work anyway.

At least he got a little point doing it. After all, to learn a life skill he needs to buy the corresponding items and that did not cost a lot for him.

He then looks at the three new Life Skill he had just acquired. He then calculated the points that he had to use.

If he ranks up one of the Life Skill to expert, it would take him 18,210 points from novice to expert. But if he uses it on all three, it would cost him 54,630 Life Skill points.

He did not even hesitate as he pours all 54,630 Life Skill points to the three Life Skills. Then vision fills his mind.
