Chapter 13: Sleep Peacefully?

'Phew’ he said as he looks at the front of his hut. It is clean and it is a little more habitable than before.

Li Xian had finished creating a makeshift wooden wall around the hut. It is merely just some stakes that is tied together tightly to create some kind of walls.

It helps him to take shelter and use the surrounding better if he had to fight with another pack of wolves again.

The more structure he built around the area, the easier for it to use it against mindless beast. He could only marvel at it for a second.

Then he went back to the forest, and cut down more trees. With his Axe Proficiency and his strength, he easily cut down a couple of trees.

Using the swords and daggers to cut the branches he replaces the old rotten wood.

With the vines he tied the loose wooden floor

he made the pillars of the hut sturdy, remove the old wooden floor that is already rotten and replace it with the new tree.

All around the hut he makes improvement. At the front it shows that his effort is slowly changing the area, looking a little bit more like a yard.

Whenever the wood run out, he would go and cut down more trees. He is busy tying up loose area and covering up the holes of the hut.

Li Xian believes if not for the fact that he has internal energy, this kind of work for a twelve-year-old would make him unconscious by the end of the day.

By the evening, the hut looks like a different hut. It is clear now that he had transformed the uninhabited trapper hut into a hut that is suitable for living.

And since he is in the ancient era, there is probably a lot of people living inside forest and on top of mountains.

And there is more defensive structure around the hut when he is done

It looks like an elegant ancient hut.

‘The only thing that is missing is bamboo forest’ he muttered to himself.

He would like it if he was in a bamboo forest. It is easy making hut with bamboo and there is design on his head that he could try.

He rested for a while, drinking water from his wooden container that he made from one of the trees.

Then he went back into the forest. He remembers he saw some place that caught his interest

At evening, he did not return to his hut.

He went to one of the stream of water he saw when he was cutting down trees. Looking at it, he nodded.

‘At least, I was sent around a place where it is easy looking for food and water’

In front of his eyes is a stream of water that is very clear, probably from a river. This is the place where he collects water.

At the time, he was sweating and he said to himself, after he finished renovating his hut he would come here to clean himself

The water is so clear that one could see fishes on the bottom of it

Li Xian caught a few fishes he could grab his hands on and put it in a makeshift bucket that he crafted from the tree.

He put water in that bucket and put the fish inside it. When he is hungry tomorrow, he would then process this fish into food.

If he has cook life skill, the price for the processing would be reduced. And he even could make it himself if he learns the cook Life Skill.

But right now, he knows the virtue of being patient. He then bathed himself. This is the first day in this new world.

it is not bad. But it is not good either.

Li Xian did not have any feeling for it. It is like he is in a daze all day.

He did all of this thing because he knows if he lazed around, if there is danger in the future, without any skills, he would die.

Survive.

That is his thoughts.

The excitement of having a system has cooled down a bit. But that doesn’t mean he find having a system boring.

‘Forget about it for a while’ he said to himself as he jumps into the stream. He then soaks himself inside the stream, washing away all the tiredness he has.

The cool stream wash away the heat and he spend around half an hour bathing in the river stream.

There is part of that stream that is a bit deep. He went to that place and while at that place he meditates a bit, regaining back his vitality.

When the sun is about to go down, he went back to the hut. Looking at the sun about to go down, he gathers the dry leaves around the yard

He created fire from the clashing of the dagger onto dry leaves and he rested in front of the hut.

He then rested for a bit on the veranda. He had made stairs and lift up the veranda.

The hut is elevated slightly because of his alteration.

There is a long bench he made using the tree body. There is also a tree stump that he had cut cleanly with an axe which he dug and brought to his hut.

He sat on the tree stump and tend the fire.

The darkness of the night freaks him out a bit before.

Maybe because he bought the skill hunter, he is not that afraid of the dark.

Last night he was restraining that fear from controlling him. But tonight, as he heard the sound of all kinds of insect making their noise, he was not afraid.

The skill gives him the experience of being woodcutter and hunter and in that experience, staying a night in the forest must be a common thing for a hunter.

He did not know that the skill could also imbue such emotions of courage.

If he did not have such skills, he probably could not lie down so peacefully inside an abandoned hut and being not afraid trekking unknown forest without any navigation.

He probably would have freaked out and dead in the first day. He look at the fire in front of him and laugh at himself a bit. He shakes his head.

‘Now, to check the increase’ he looks at his Life Skill points and his face lit up.

Seeing the System make him feel secure a bit. If this system suddenly disappeared, he would probably be very panicked

He focusses on his Life Skill points. From 1290 points it rises up to 22,100 points. That is a lot of increase.

He then looks at the Martial Skill points. It did not increase much even after his meditation session in the river stream.

It only increases 1000 point making the total sum of Martial Skill points that he has right now 1090.

‘Nonetheless at least my life skill point had increased’ he said to console himself.

This is the way to farm Life Skill point, he thought to himself. He also notices that the easier he cut down the trees, the lower the point given to him after the first few cuts.

Looking at his Martial Skill point it is not that much. Since that is the case, it is better to sweep it all away.

‘I better use it all up to raise a few of my skills’ he thought to himself.

He looks at his Axe Proficiency and nodded at himself. He had decided to rank up the Axe Proficiency skill

And he immediately uses all the skill point that he could use

Axe Proficiency is raised to Master rank using 600 points.

At least this skill would help him get more point when farming the Life Skill points.

As for the Life Skill, he decided to use it to rank up Hunter Apprentice to Journeyman using five thousand points

He did not like doing thing in a small way. It is better to use the points rather than storing it in this kind of situation.

Then using twelve thousand skill points, Li Xian ranks up Woodcutter to Expert level.

He expected another skill to pop up because of the rank up in the ranks but its seems he is not lucky tonight.

‘Haish. Just count my blessing today. At least I  didn’t get eaten by a bear or meet tiger. Considering that this is like a jungle, who knows? Maybe there is one’

Then his stomach rumbles.

‘Hungry again’ he said to himself.

Sighing, he then brought out the rabbits that he stores inside his storage bag and begins eating it. There are also the few roasted birds that feel very delicious.

This is his first day in this world.

‘It did not feel that bad’ he thought to himself.

That night after finished eating, he brought out his sword out and begin practicing the swordplay in the open space that is cleaned by him.

The glares of his sword shines bright. The light of the fire in the yard seems to reflect through the fast sword moves that Li Xian is using.

Each of his sword move is forceful and have powerful impact.

And since he had also gain some bonuses when ranking up the Woodcutter ranks, his arm strength and his powerful grip created a more powerful sword attack.

His attack alone could easily cut down a small tree.

Tonight, no wolves come to his hut.

Li Xian must say he is a bit disappointed. Right now, he wanted a quest. He wanted to know what kinds of things that would trigger the system to give him any quest.

When it is around midnight and it sic clear now that no wolves pack would be coming. Li Xian before going to the hut to check out for the day and sleep check his status window.

He nodded looking at his status window and then went inside his newly reformed hut.

‘It could be better’ he thought to himself.

Tomorrow, he will cut more trees and strengthen and changes more about this hut. It helps him train his cutting skill and also improve his livelihood.

He would train in this forest for a couple of weeks and familiarize himself around this area first. after that, he probably would explore further and further from this area.

And then he would go outside this forest.

He is still not sure whether this place this is a mountain but considering that there is thick fog in the morning and his initial observation, he might be inside a small mountain forest.

When he enters his hut, the floor is not like before. It is layered by wolf fur, making one not sleep on cold wood.

Putting his sword inside his sheath, he took toward the simple crude area where he designed a comfortable sleeping spot and then he closes his eyes.

Li Xian quickly went into deep sleep, his breathing calm and unhurried.

Inside the forest, while Li Xian is sleeping four men seems to be in a chase. Three people si being chased by one person who is using a blade.

A girl, A boy, An old man. And a middle aged man.

Li Xian probably would not have a peaceful night today.
