Chapter 02: A New World

BOOM!

Thunder strikes into a forest. The dark clouds hovered above the Earth and heaven seems like it is angry

There are a few men inside the forest, looking for someone.

Their speed is unlike normal human.

They were fast like lightning and their feet did not touch the ground as they stepped on the tip of grass dashing forward, making them appear like they were floating few inches from the ground while gliding forward like a ghost.

There are all dressed in black uniforms.

‘Tenth, I think the kid probably dead if we let him roams this forest’

‘Master order us to make sure that it is finished.

‘Hmph. Suit yourself’ The other snorted.

Then that person flew toward the top of the tree and went the opposite direction. The person that is called Tenth just sighed and then follows the other person.

They flew down the mountainous area full of trees as thunder in the sky illuminates the world

James felt pain. That is the first feeling he felt. Pain.

Then he felt a little dizzy.  His head felt like he has been struck by a hammer and manage to survive.

Feeling groggy, he slowly opens his eyes. He felt something on his back wriggling. And it is hot. After a few seconds the wriggling sensation dissipated.

He could not see things clearly even though he opens his eyes. He shakes his head and then close his eyes for a few seconds.

He felt dazed and out of focus. He takes a deep breath, open his eyes slowly and then he could slowly see what is in front of him.

What!’ he shouted in shock. He spoke English but what came out of his mouth is a different language

For some reason he did not feel awkward saying this unknown language.

He takes a step backward. He then looks at his foot. He felt a dissonance. Like this is not the way he moves and this is the feeling of him moving in his natural form.

When he looks at his foot he saw that he is barefoot and his foot is small.

‘Where am I?’ he asked himself. He panics for a few moments before calming himself down by breathing normally.

In front of him is a forest.

That is not what he expected at all.

He expected to see his computer.

A tree? Now, that is something he could not predict seeing.

And the reason he almost gets seized by panic is because he saw his feet. It is the feet of a child. He was just about to panic even more when suddenly a sound echoes in his ears

[Don’t get killed and solve the quest given by the system to get bountiful reward]

[Survive and forge your own path!]

Then the sound ended.

The absurdity of it all somehow make him calm down.

He then looks around. There are only large trees around him. He doesn’t know whether it is because the tree is huge or it is because he is small that he felt a bit unsettled

‘This forest…doesn’t it look familiar?’ He thought to himself. Isn’t this the forest in the game?! He was shocked as he thought about it.

Wait a minute. Did I just transmigrated into another world? or did I just transmigrated into a game?  What that is about some gift pack.

Wait, this kind of thing follow certain development. Do I have some system?

He finally remembers the voice that echoes in his ear just now.

Yes, James is not only an avid gamer. He also spends his time reading a lot of web novels. This development certainly suggest that he is in that kind of fantastical situation.

But the difference between him and those other character in the web novels story is that he is pretty happy and content in his other life.

He is the son of a rich man with a guaranteed success in the future.

There is nothing to complain about in his old life. Other than a few times of loneliness and emptiness, his life is not that bad.

He is even planning to ask Ashley out next week. He never wanted to be transmigrated into another world.

And from what he heard the system told him, it told him to survive. Survive is not the same as enjoying.

Playing games and living the game is not the same.

It did not take James a lot of time to surmise that he is feeling cold.

So, he could dismiss the idea that this situation is like he is in a game or that he is in a dream. Probably if he could sense cold and other feelings that means, pain is very real in this world.

James is just standing there, on the middle of the forest, thinking. His mind is working on overdrive.

He did not know what to do and his mind is bombarded with many things.

‘Take a dep breath. Take a deep breath’ he told himself. It took him a few minutes before he could get his bearing. He then sits down.

He closes his eyes.

‘My clothes are torn and my feet is dirty. I seem to be running in this area before I stopped. Have I possessed this little kid or am I transported here? There are no memories about this world in this child memories’

Usually when he reads stories that deals with this kind of stuff, the host would always get their memories from the original body.

He did not get any memories so he doubted that he possesses this little kid. Maybe he is generated by the system into to the world

Nothing is out of the realm of possibility. Considering that he could be transported here from his world, what is a few more absurdity.

He thinks again.

James is a good at adapting. Even though the situation he is in now is not really on the realm of logic, he quickly adapts to it.

Because just screaming “it is not possible” would not solve anything.

‘I don’t know where I am but I could make assumption that I am inside the game of Martial World. This is like the opening scene of the game where I am in the forest. Am I a kid because I choose a kid as my profile? Hmm’ James continue making deduction.

He is pretty calm for a guy who just got transported into another world.

Anyway, since I already in the game and I have ascertained that there is a system notification, that means I also have a status interface.

He thought about it and then it appeared in front of his face
