Chapter 47: A Smoke Herb That Will Bring Trouble

He saw a stream not far from the area and he checks it. The stream is not as deep as the below stream but it is good place to bathe.

The water is clear and there are only a few fishes. But Li Xian did not think of catching such small fishes.

‘Maybe as a snack’ he reminded himself

He saw a few clearings but nothing grabs his sight like the cave area and so he finally decides that the cave area would be his next residence

After the trio come down the mountain he will move here. That is his resolution.

It is almost afternoon but Li Xian did not immediately come down from the area.

Instead, he went to the cave area and began making fire. He grabs a few herbs he got from Bai Qingniu and then burns it.

He then left the area of that fire for a while, looking in the distance.

The herbs he burned produce a thick white smoke and then Li Xian could hiss coming from all directions. Li Xian smiles.

From his surrounding all kinds of snake went away and from the cave, there is hundreds of crawling and slithering creatures coming out from any holes they could come out of.

‘I didn’t think that there is such a herb’ he thought to himself.

Li Xian did not know if there is such a herb on Earth, but after thinking for a while he doubts that there is such a herb that could force all of this creatures and snakes to be repelled by the smoke of this fire.

Li Xian did not just let these snakes go.

The other crawling and slithering creature like the large centipede and millipede was let go but as for the snakes, Li Xian had a plan for it.

Since Bai Qingniu could make many tonics with snakes, the more he caught the better it would be.

Li Xian draws his sword and then he began slicing the heads of the snake that comes out from the cave

He did not hesitate at all to slice and combined that with his lightness skill he easily avoids the other creatures.

His attack was all very precise and accurate.

It takes him fifteen minutes to kill a few dozens of snakes.

Most of them were thick and long.

Looking at the area, he then put these snake’s bodies into his sack and then proceed to come down.

He did not check the foot of mountain today. But there is a lot of things he wanted to do after the trio leaves the mountain.

One of them is seeing the village at the foot of the mountain.

‘Wait for me’ he said. Li Xian is confident if he goes to the village he would surely get some benefits. There might be some generated quest.

He checks his martial skill points and it only increase around ten skill points.

The reason is probably because he is too strong. The snake is not that hard to kill anymore and most of them possess him no danger.

Even his Three Palm Waves is powerful enough to kill the snake from a distance

Li Xian could only sigh.

Now even to farm martial skill points is hard.

‘But how could I get a quest in the middle of the forest?’ He thought to himself.

From what he had experienced it is clear that quest always is always generated if it is something to do with martial arts related matters and when it involves people or something that would improve himself.

That is his current deduction about how quest is generated.

Fighting such snake mob was easy. If the system allowed such a thing to become quest, and Li Xian farm martial skill points like that by two years he would probably become grandmaster of martial arts and could roam the world unhindered.

Why couldn’t the system just give him thing like that of a novel where there is no risk and all they have to do is enjoying life and doing stupid decision but still manages to become stronger.

He complained all the way down to the stream.

Like always, he stops by to take bath in the stream. However, this time, he saw someone else in the stream.

He saw Xu Wen playing around the stream. He nearly could not restrain his expression as he is about to frown but then he thinks it is not good for him to hoard this place alone.

Xu Wen saw Li Xian and then he said

‘Swordsman Li’ he said. Li Xian only nodded.

‘Young hero Li also want to bathe here?’ Li Xian only nodded and then ask

‘How did you know this place?’

‘Pingting told me’ Li Xian only smiles but in his heart he thought to himself, that girl told her senior brother my secret spot.

I know I should have not been so blatant. Now there is another person that knows this place. How could I easily practice around here again after this?

But then he just shakes his head.

Since these people are going to go away a few days later, why should he cares that much. Li Xian then respond to Xu Wen and they both bathe together in the stream

The only difference now is that Li Xian could no longer meditate and just take a bath.

As such the duration he takes a bath decreased. After a while he got up and went back down to the hut.

Bai Qingniu saw him from the entrance and shouted at him

‘You have returned’ Li Xian only nodded as he said

‘Old senior, I have hunted something’ he then shows the things in the sacks. Bai Qingniu look inside and what he saw shock him before he smiles

‘Young hero Li is really capable. I would not mind buying this from young hero Li. With some money, young hero Li could trade some things with the people below the mountain’ Li Xian shakes his head and said

‘I did not need old senior money. But this junior would be grateful if for repayment, old senior could concoct a few medicinal pills or tonic for me’ hearing this Bai Qingniu understood and then he nodded

‘That is no problem for me. I have to extract the essence of these snakes first and after a few days, I could concoct a few pills and a few tonics that would help the circulation of blood and promote healing and increase one internal energy’ he said and Li Xian cupped his hand and express his thanks.

He then gets ready to eat for the night. He set up a spit roast stand and then raise a fire. There are many things he caught today. He wanted to boils some and roast some.

Li Xian think this is how his life would be for the next few days. He did not hate it. After all this is better than almost being killed by some martial artist.

Night came and the food is ready.

They all eat and they talk.

Sometimes Xu Wen and Bai Pingting would joke around and tease each other and they laughed bringing some joy in this dark forest.

Bai Qingniu and Li Xian both smiles.

Bai Qingniu smiles could be understood as he is an old man. His life is full of darkness and hardship, rarely there is happiness and when there is happiness it is ethereal and fleeting.

It wasn’t until half his life he had found the light and decided to live in peace so the small thing like this bring happiness to his heart.

But who could understand Li Xian smiles?

Since Li Xian himself could not understand why he smiles looking at such scene, there would probably be no one on this world could decipher the smile

The night grew deeper and everyone went to sleep. Sitting on the yard, tending on the about to extinguished fire, is Li Xian.

 He throws a few more branches of dry sticks and the fire rose high again. He sighed as he touched the pendant on his neck.

This is also one of the thing he wanted to know.

The pendant clearly belongs to the original Li Xian. What he didn’t understand is that how did he end up here in the middle of the forest.

One thing that Li Xian has slowly understand, is that this system did not just teleport him here for the sake of convenience.
