Chapter 5

1486 Words
The next morning, Garrett is at the hospital seeing patients. He is trying not to think about his father. He doesn't want Honor to know what he is thinking or feeling. Garrett wants to talk to his father first. But deep down he knows that he already knows the answer. So he decided that he will call his father after he has seen all his patients. "Jackson and Kelly" "Have you heard from our son?" Jackson asks Kelly when he walks into the kitchen. "No, not since you and he was on the phone the other night. He must be busy working and enjoying his girlfriend. I am happy for him. Maybe they will give a grandbaby soon." She said as she is stirring the sauce for the spaghetti she is cooking. "His ass better not be enjoying her too much. I don't want any grandbaby by that thing. Because if he is involved with what I think he it is. He is bringing his ass home." Jackson said pouring a glass of whiskey. "Jackson, you can't make him come home if he doesn't want to come.   You can not make him quit his girlfriend or his job. Garrett is a grown man. Stop calling her a thing. What do you mean by what you think it is? " She said looking over at him. "Honor, what kind of f*****g name is Honor? What is she some kind of princess or something?" He said as he downs his second glass of whiskey. " For your information, there was a famous English actress named Honor Blackman. She died recently. She was beautiful, played in The Avenger, and was p***y Galore in the James Bond movie." Kelly said looking at him. "Since you think you have all the f*****g answers. What is our son f*****g? Tell me that." Jackson said throwing the glass against the wall. "Jackson, why do you keep referring to Honor as a what? What is it you are not telling me?" Kelly asks him looking at the wall. Jackson picks up the bottle of whiskey looks at her and drinks out of the bottle. "You are going to have to tell me soon what is going on." She said turning off the stove and walking out of the kitchen. "What good would it do for me to tell you. You wouldn't f*****g believe me. " He said shaking his head, looking at her walking out the door. "Damn it, if the Seer is right and this f*****g Honor is a werewolf. My son is now a great  shift hunter-killer." Jackson whispers softly. As he drinks out the bottle again. "Back at Honor and Garrett's" Honor is in her office sitting behind her desk, looking out the window. When her father and mother walk in. "Pumpkin, you seem to have something on your mind. Do you want to talk about it?" Her father said. "Last night, they came on our land. That worries me. Why are they getting so bold now?" Honor said looking at her parents "Hopefully Bridget will have some answers when she comes. It's something or someone they are scared of." Her mother said. "I don't like them coming after my pack. If it's me they want then come for me. Hell, why don't they man up and face me." Honor said hitting her desk. "Because they are cowards. You all killed a total of twenty-eight last night. Only two got away, that was good.  But there are a lot more out there. Don't worry about Garrett. Kyle, Lee, and I will train him. Hell, yesterday in training he was pretty damn good. He is a master with a sword." Jay said nodding his head looking at his daughter. " That is good to know. I knew he was strong and fearless. " Honor said nodding her head smiling.  "There is something else on your mind," Her mother is  looking at her " Yes, I remember seeing Garrett that day at the pond. I also remember thinking that he has the most beautiful eyes that I have ever seen.  I felt connected to him. He smelt liked citrus and white chocolate. But why doesn't he smell like that now?  Don't get me wrong he smells great now.  But not the scent he smelt like that day." She said shaking her head looking at her mother than at her father. "You never told us that you felt or smelt him. You shouldn't have been able to, you were too young to mate with him." Angela said looking concerned "I didn't remember it until this morning. I know that but I smelt him." Honor said looking at Garrett's picture on her desk. "Maybe the more you two are together the more you will remember." Her father said looking at Honor.  "Well, I hope everything comes back to both of us soon. I have a feeling that we have a lot of enemies coming our way. " Honor said standing up, she walks to the window looking out of it. "What do you mean both of you?" Jay asks looking confused. " I don't know why I said that. It's just a feeling that I have," she said still looking out the window. But is now looking at the pack hospital. "Chris and Xavier" "I think we should stop hunting for a while. Last night was pretty f*****g scary." Xavier said looking at Chris. "Yea, I was thinking the same thing. But when I told my father about that huge ass black wolf. He said he wants him as a trophy." Chris said shaking his head. "s**t, I don't want to go up against that beast again anytime soon. Never, if you want to know the truth. Your father has lost his damn mind. His ass doesn't know just how big that thing is. I have never seen one that big before. " He said looking at Chris. "You know how bull-headed my father can be. But my ass is not going back on their land again. I know their asses will be waiting for us. I am not ready to fight against any of them right now. Besides I almost shitted in my pants when that thing ripped poor Wilbur's head off, while he was alive. "Chris said as they order lunch at the drive-thru. "Jared said he thinks it's the one that almost killed him. You know the one that f****d his chest up?" Xavier said. " He said the only reason he is still alive is because of Jackson and his father Marty. They had caught one in a net. The beast left Jared alone to save the other one. Marty said the beast let out one hell of a loud growl. Start running toward the net. He swung his claw once cutting the line. That  gave them time to drive away." Chris said. Well, I for one am not going back out there. You all are on your own. " Xavier said as he takes a bite out of his burger. "Back at Garrett and Honor's" Garrett just finished seeing his last patient who was Jill and Nelson. He knew he could not put it off any longer. He has to talk to his father.  "I don't know if my father will tell me the truth or lie. But I have to ask him. But I can't just straight out ask him." Garrett is thinking as he dials his father's number. "Phone Conversation" Jackson: Hello stranger Garrett: How are you all doing?  Jackson: Everyone is fine. What about you and that Honor? Garrett: Don't start in on her. We are doing great. There is a reason why I called you. Jackson: What is that? Garrett: I was wondering when are you going on your next hunting trip? Jackson: Why? You don't hunt Garrett: No, but I might start. It depends on what you are hunting. Jackson: Nothing specific. Anything I can find.  Garrett: You know that is the same thing Jared always says. But I never have seen anything he hunted.  Jackson: Well, you and I can go hunting soon.  When your mother and I come to visit you. We can go one night. Garrett: I prefer to go during the day. Maybe get a  few rabbits. Jackson: Son, what I plan to hunt is not a rabbit. It can only be hunted at night. You are more than welcome to come with me Garrett: Okay,  we will talk about it when you come. I will talk to you later. "End of Call" He hangs the phone up. He did not give his father time to say goodbye or anything else. Garrett rubs his face, shaking his head. "My father is a f*****g shift hunter," Garrett is still shaking his head. "Did you say your father is a shift hunter?" Honor asks looking at him. As she walks into his office.
