-Gage POV-
“Don’t you touch me!” She shouts.
(Now there’s a thought.)
I could certainly do that. That would drive Hendrix crazy but... I’m not a rapist. I like to have my woman willing.
I stare at her.
I am enraged but I don’t know what to do with her. Just knowing that this is his mate makes my blood boil. I really thought that if I was ever in this situation, my wolf would take control and kill Hendrix’s mate on the spot. But even though my wolf is angry, he hesitates and I don’t understand why.
I growl and that scares her even more.
My wolf seems to have no desire to kill her but I could, at least that’s what I tell myself. But then that would be too easy and I want to see Hendrix suffer. If I do it in front of him, that would give me more satisfaction.
She heaves as she stares at me with fear in her eyes.
"And what are you going to do if I do touch you? You are mine now and I can do with you what I please." My tone is harsh.
Her eyes widen. I give her a smile and walk away.
"Wait...my son..."
I close and lock the door behind me, leaving her there now pounding and yelling at the door.
“Where is my son!” She shouts from the other side.
“Max, you and James will take turns watching this door. I don’t trust anyone else.”
He nods and I leave for my office. When I walk in, James is there waiting for me and I start to pace.
“The kid?” I ask.
“He is safe. I put him in the room that you told me to. I managed to calm him down a bit, telling him that his mother wouldn't be hurt. Seemed that is all he cared about.”
"You lied."
He sighs. "That all depends on you."
I nod.
“What about his mother? What are you going to do with her?” He asks.
“I don’t know yet. The natural thing would be to kill her.” I say.
James sighs. “Would that really be the only option?”
“Why? You don’t know this woman. Why do you care?” I ask.
“The kid told me that they were running from his father. It seems that they want nothing to do with Hendrix. So, maybe they could be more useful alive?”
I slam my hand on the desk. “They are part of Hendrix pack! No, I’ll use them to my advantage even if I have to kill them both!”
James looks away. “Well, it seems like Hendrix has no love for them. So, I’m not sure how much advantage you are going to get from them.”
I shake my head. “The mate bond screws you up. He cares, even if he doesn’t want to. He cares.” I say.
James gets up. “Alright then. Oh, and the two other men they caught, died during the interrogation. We couldn’t get anything more out of them.”
I nod but I don’t answer. He leaves me there with my thoughts and still agitated.
-Malena POV-
The early morning light wakes me. I spent most of the night screaming and pounding my hand at the door to no avail.
I don’t know what they have done with Dayton.
“This was the worst idea ever. All I did, was change one prison for another, but here we are in even more danger.” I talk to myself with a raspy voice. It’s a thing I do that helps me analyze things.
My hand goes to my neck. It hurts and I’m sure I have a bruise from the way that animal griped me. I guess rumors were true, he’s a beast.
“Alpha Gage is known to be ruthless and a savage. Hendrix is not any less but he keeps it for when the doors are closed. He wants everyone to think we are a perfect little family.”
I pace the room as I look around. The only things that are in this room are a window and a bed with bedsheets. That is all.
I feel the helplessness start to slowly sink in.
“No! You can’t feel like this. Dayton needs us. I won't just, roll over and let despair take me!” I shout at myself.
(There has to be a way.)
I look out the window to see that we are high up on the second floor. But there is a small two-inch ledge that goes around the house.
“That will have to do. That is my only choice.” I mumble.
I slowly open the window trying to not make too much notice.
I look down and shiver. The number one thing that I am afraid of, excluding Hendrix and now Gage, it’s heights.
I close my eyes. “f**k me.” I whisper, cursing my damned luck in life.
I put a foot out and then the other. I sit on the window ledge and slowly lower my leg to touch the two-inch ledge that is a bit further down from the window ledge.
When I touch it, I turn around and grab the edges of the window and put my other foot on the two-inch ledge.
I take a deep breath and look to my right where there are two windows and the further one is opened.
I exhale the breath that I was holding and start moving.
“f**k me, f*****g s**t head mother f*****g werewolves...” I continue to chant under my breath.
I reach the first window and inside, I can see two people sleeping on a bed. I quietly go past it and keep chanting my curses to myself.
Finally, I reach the open window. I quietly peek in and see a room. It is the same size as the one I was in but looks like a teenager's room and there is no one inside.
I hold the edges of the window and slowly make it in.
Once in, I take a deep, deep breath of relief. I am glad that not once did I lose my footing because I would have had a heart attack.
I quietly make my way to the door and turn the nob to find that it is unlocked.
(Yes!)
I peek my head out and quickly pull back when I see the man that was with Alpha Gage yesterday, standing in front of my door.
(Of course, he left someone watching me.)
I can see on the opposite wall, stairs going up and down in between this room and the one I was at.
My eyes almost bulge out when I hear someone behind me.
“What are you doing?”
I quickly close the door and look behind me to find a teenage boy looking at me.
“Where the hell did you come from?” I whisper but almost yell.
He chuckles. “I was here the whole time. I was in the corner over there.” He points to the corner where there is a bunch of clothes staked up on a chair next to the window.
He scratches his head. “I thought I was seeing things because of the shrooms I ate but nope, you are real.”
I sway my hands slowly in front of him. “Go back to your seat, I am just in your head.”
(I can’t believe what I am doing right now but I hope it works.)
He squints his eyes at me. “I am not stupid you know.”
I groan and sigh. “Please... just... stay quiet. I’ll be out of your hair in just a sec.”
“Ts, and bring the Alphas wrath on me? No thanks.” He says and then opens his mouth to shout.
*Punch*
I punch his throat.
“Sorry.” I mouth out as he tumbles back and starts to cough.
He starts coughing so much that I know I am in trouble because someone is going to hear him.
“f**k it, run.” I say to myself.
I open the door and dash out directly down the stairs.
The guy that is guarding my door seems so surprised that he can’t react.
(Haha! Sucker!)
I run and when I make it downstairs, I immediately open the first door I see and go in but I am telling you, someone up there in the heavens hates me.
I seem to find myself in the Alpha’s office. There is no one inside but I am so screwed. I immediately lock the door and start hearing a commotion outside. They are probably alerting everyone.
I look at the office. I am surprised to see it looking so tidy. Alpha Gage looks very rugged and raw. Not like someone who would have everything in its place like this.
I put those thoughts away and start looking around thinking that maybe I can find out where they took Dayton.
Suddenly the doorknob turns and someone tries to open the door but they can’t.
I hear muffled voices.
“Shit.” I look around panicking.
I know I have no time so I run towards the window.
The door nub turns again but this time more violently and then, the door is being broken in. The door opens with force, hitting the wall as it swings open and on the doorway stands Alpha Gage.
His eyes flare when he sees me and starts to sprint towards me. I step back and hit the wall. He grabs me by the neck and pins me there.
“What the hell do you think you're doing!” He growls out.
Gage’s blue eyes look at me as he pins me to the wall and I shiver.
I find the courage inside me to speak. “I want my son.”
He gives a low growl then, pulls me, and throws me on the floor in the middle of the office. I fall on my knees and look up to see the man that was guarding my door now looking like he is guarding my only way out.
“What the hell are you doing Max? You were guarding her for a reason.” Alpha Gage spits out.
“She went out the window. What crazy human does that?” The guy named Max asks.
I hear Gage walking over towards me. He then grabs me by the back of the neck and lifts me up, making me get up on my feet. It hurts, so I instinctively hit him on the chest over and over.
“Stop!” I shout.
He takes both my hands and holds them in place. He then lifts me up to his shoulders where he carries me and starts walking out.
Max makes way for him and then follows us.
“You seem to think you have a saying of what I do with you.” Alpha Gage says as he walks.
I kick and try to bite him but like last night, when he did the same thing, he is too strong.
I lift myself up to see Max following us. He stares at me with an unreadable expression. The tall man with dark hair and dark eyes almost looks emotionless.
This time, Gage doesn’t go up the stairs. He continues to walk through a corridor and then we reach the dining room.
“Leave!” He shouts to everyone in the room. Everyone in the room gets up. They grab their plates and run out and I don’t blame them.
This man is a beast and we all should be afraid of him.
