Chapter 8: Arrogant

“Wow! That was amazing! I wish I could eat more but I have got to train all day. Thank you so much for your hospitality, I promise I be out of your hair today” Bee said leaning back in her chair. It had been a fun breakfast with Kurt, Alannah, Theo, Frank and of course the Twins. 

Frank and Theo looked at each other before Frank said “Actually Bee, we have been talking and we think it is wise if you stay here for the next week”

“What? But I have a home and I am under the care of the Grey Seals, they will be deeply offended!” Bee argued.

“Don’t worry about the Grey Seals, we have already talked to them and they have agreed” Theo said with false cheerfulness.

“Meaning you have pulled rank!” Bee snapped

“Please Bee, it was not like that is all. We are better resourced to insure your security” Kurt said gently.

“Bee we just want you safe, Viktor..” Aiden started to say but Bee quickly interrupted him.

“I can handle Viktor Poletov!” Bee said angrily 

“Well the bruise round your eye tells us otherwise!” Ethan snapped back. Why could she not see they are trying to protect her? Ethan thought furiously.

Bee just glared at Ethan before saying quietly “Who the hell do you think you are to address me in such a way? I am a Kraken and a Siren!”

“Bee let’s take few moments out...your boat is ready..” Frank tried to say desperately as he spotted the warning signs of Bee’s temper. She rarely lost it, but when she did it was explosive.

“And I am a Canadian Prince! So what is your point?” Ethan snapped back before thinking.

“Aye, a arrogant Land Gang Prince who thinks he can order sea folk around! Am I right?” Bee replied

“Bee..” Frank said softly

“Quite Uncle and yes that is an order!” Bee snapped in Cornish.

“And you are just a stubborn Siren who is looking for any excuse to be offended!” Aiden pointed out.

“Enough you two!” Alannah said in Mandarin 

“No! She needs to understand that it is a honour that she is here! She is A sea gang member, they are beneath us!” Ethan said arrogantly in Mandarin.

“Ethan!” Alannah said shocked

“What, she can’t understand anyway! The Sea Gangs are not known for their intelligence!” Aiden said in Mandarin. Alannah could see they twins had lost their temper and were been totally unreasonable. They tended to say things they really didn’t mean when they were angry, but that was no excuse for what they just said! Alannah thought.

A hurt look flashed over Bee’s face before she got hold of her self and said “Kurt and Alannah, I will keep my word and do the challenge. However, I will not be staying here nor do I wish to see these two again! Now excuse me, I have to train! Uncle?” 

Frank got up and accompanied Bee out, who walking out with all the dignity she could mustered.

“You fools!” Theo hissed as he banged his fists down.

“Father, I am sure it can..”Alannah started to say

“Not if Bee can speak Mandarin it can’t!” Kurt said with a growl.

“What?!” The Twins said in unison, suddenly going pale.

“Didn’t you know? Bee has a double first in Accounting and Languages from Oxford. I am guessing she is fluent in quite a few!” Kurt said.

“Yes, Russian, Mandarin  and Spanish just to name a few” Theo confirmed.

“In short Gentleman, you have just insulted our guest and the Siren due to your arrogance. I do hope that you weren’t hoping to court her as there is little chance of that now!” Kurt said pointedly. It was about time the Twins learned there was consequences to their actions! Kurt thought.

“No!” Aiden said wishing a hole would swallow him up.

“But she out there alone with Viktor Poletov hunting her!” Ethan said desperately 

“She will be fine, Viktor won’t hurt her! He might kidnap her to stop her from competing,  but that is about it” Theo said confidently 

“He did last night!” Ethan pointed out

“No one of his men did and I am sure they are regretting it now” Theo said folding his arms.

“How are you so sure my friend?” Kurt said

“Oh many reasons, but the main one is that Viktor’s family has been trying to negotiate a marriage contract for years with the Clearwater’s. It is rather a prudent move I think to be honest” Theo said with a shrug.

“What?!” Ethan and Aiden suddenly roared. Before Alannah could say anything, the Twins completely lost it and started to upturn the table. Kurt quickly pushed Alannah behind him as the Twins continued to shout.

“It is alright Kurt, I am use to this....still they have not done it in a while” Alannah said looking at the mess.

“SHE IS NOT GOING TO MARRY THAT SON OF A b***h!!!” Ethan roared. The thought of that man putting his hands over Bee and kissing her was too much for him to bare.

“Calm your tits.....I said he had tried! Bee has rejected him numerous times!” Theo shouted. Clearly unimpressed by the display of temper.

“Really?” Aiden said suddenly feeling much calmer.

“Yes! But I suggest you both grow the f**k up and fast....that is if you are interested in her that way!” Theo said.

“Yes the first thing to do is to find her and bloody well apologise!” Kurt said

“Big time!” Alannah said.

“But if you do court her and break her heart, I will break you bloody neck!” Theo snapped.

The Twins did not hear the warning as they were out the door going to find her. They were determined to make it up to her, if only they could find her!

“Bee, you done 6 miles already! You need to slow down!” Frank said as she raced passed him. She was running in St James’s Park and already done one lap. Bee was desperately trying to outrun the anger and hurt she felt.

“Of course they think I am thick......I was so stupid to think they were different!” Bee thought as she ran towards a outcrop of trees. There was no one else there apart from a figure that she recongnised well. She slowed down and stopped.

“Viktor Poletov, what an unpleasant surprise!” Bee said panting.

“I came to apologise about last night, it was unacceptable and the person responsible has been dealt with” Viktor said

“I bet!” Bee said taking a sip from her water bottle.

“You know I want to talk about the challenge....why in God’s name did you accept it?” Viktor said as the both slowly walked to a bench.

“Theo asked and Theo is family!” Bee said with a shrug and Viktor sighed.

“So they pulled that card did they? I forgot he is your God Father” Viktor said

“Yeap once again the Sea Gangs do all the work!” Bee said bitterly

Viktor chuckled and said “That bad is it? I heard the Twins were paying you special attention last night”

Bee scoffed and said “only because they want something, they are arrogant and obnoxious!” 

“You are right and they can’t be trusted Bee, they are not of our world. They don’t understand about honour, family and respect. I advise you stay clear of them” Viktor said in a friendly tone.

“I intend to!” Bee said with a nod.

“You know after the challenge, I thought maybe we could spend some time together” Viktor said casually and Bee smirked

“Spend some time together....what like courting?” Bee said with a playful glint in her eyes.

“Why not?” Viktor said

“Umm because you are a major flirt and I said no loads of times before!” Bee said with a laugh

“,..and she is saying no again!” Ethan said as Aiden and him came out from the trees.

“What are you two doing here?” Bee snapped

“Protecting you from him!” Aiden said glaring at Viktor.

“Me? I would never hurt Bee, she is like family to me!” Viktor said innocently.

“Right! Exhibit A!” Aiden said pointing at Bee’s eye.

“He has already apologised for that, not that it is any of your bloody business!” Bee said  getting up. 

“Bee don’t go!” Viktor said in Russian as he put a hand on her arm to stop her walking away.

“Oi! Get your hand off her!” Ethan said as he grabbed Bee’s other arm and tried to pull her behind him protectively. Well, that was the plan, but Bee grabbed his wrist and threw Ethan over her shoulder making him land flat on his back. 

“Don’t you ever touch me without my permission!” Bee said in Mandarin and walked off leaving Aiden standing in complete shock.

Viktor chuckled and followed her saying “Princes you might be, but she is a Siren and she is way out of your league boys!”

“f**k!” Aiden said watching her walk off.

“f**k indeed Brother! What a women!” Ethan said with a happy smirk. Viktor was stupid if he thought they were going to give up now.
