HIS FAMILIAR SCENT.

1115 Words
"Yes, Mr. Kodiak.' Everyone happily agreed. His hands, his bright features and his eyes were the definition of his beauty. I was grinning and smiling like an i***t. We were so engrossed in his body rather than his teachings. I couldn't stop thinking about him. His aura and his voice consumed my thoughts. I didn't know when he resumed his lesson and as soon as he pointed at me with a raised brow; I felt the ground crumbling at my feet. My heart skipped. "You are Miss Luna, right?' "Yes.' I stuttered. "I just asked you a question. Can you stand up and give an answer to the class about what I just asked?' Crap! What did he ask? I wasn't even paying attention to his teaching. Fuck, this is so embarrassing. Why was it at this moment he questioned me in front of everyone? "Umm…" I stuttered, avoiding his gaze. "What did you just ask? I just want to be sure of the question I'm answering,' I asked nervously, with a little smile. I sighed and looked into his eyes. We locked our gazes. A straight reflection of blue strikes passed his eyes for a minute. And at that moment, I knew my world was upside down. My heart was beating so fast, never in a million years did I think I would come across my mate in a classroom. His blue eyes glittered, and then he whispered. "Mate.' His eyes widened. He then quickly excused himself and walked out of the classroom. I stood as everyone kept murmuring about what had just happened. I slumped down in my seat in a daze, knowing this was true in the freakiest way possible. "What just happened?' Sandra asked. "I have no clue,' I muttered. "He called you…" "Yes.' I cut her short. "Our professor called me his mate,' I whispered. "No way! You know it can never happen, Luna.' "But it is happening, Sandra, right?' For the rest of the day, I couldn't concentrate in class. His words were stuck in my head and as I went home on that day, I didn't know what to do. The Professor, the Alpha, is my mate. Why did he run off like that? I'm supposed to be happy knowing I had found my mate. But why do I feel so sad at the wrong time and at the right time? I hope everyone doesn't find out about me and the professor being mates because if they find out, my life at high school is over. It could ruin my chances of ever entering college and graduating as well, if it was even possible. My father would be in a tight seat. He has gone through a lot for me and I don't want to stress him any further but make him proud of me. I want my father to be happy for me and not overly worried because of my life. The next day at school, I walked to the canteen as Sandra tagged along with me with a huge smile. I knew she was up to something. "Why are you smiling?' I questioned with a frown. "Why don't you go meet him?' she suggested. "Are you serious right now?' I scoffed and stood in the long queue. "Come on, you've got to meet him. He is your mate. Why are you avoiding him?' "How am I avoiding him? Didn't you see when he ran away from me in the classroom? Who is running from whom?' I argued, knowing she was right. "I think you are. He is your mate. It is only right you go meet him.' "And say what exactly?' I laughed and rolled my eyes at her. "Oh, let me guess. I will go to his office and I will say, "Hey, professor Kodiak, how are you doing? My name is Luna Guadalupe. I'm eighteen years old from the Oceana Clan. We are fated mates. I came to see you. So, you can claim me. We are mates, after all. Let's be together, professor, go on a honeymoon and live happily ever after,' I mocked. "That's what you want me to say to him? You are out of your mind." "Lower your voice." She instructed. "Listen, according to the stories I read on w*****d, the mates usually meet immediately and become lovers. Your prince charming has arrived…" I groaned. "Listen to me, Sandra. When I say your head is filled with fantasy, believe me because it is the truth. This is the real world, not Cinderella or w*****d. My life is not a fantasy. Neither is it Wattpad.' I fiercely whispered at her. "Luna.' "He is a stranger and I can't just go meet him and tell him about mates. I am here to graduate and focus on my studies." "Luna, look.' Yet, I went on. "I am not ready for any Alpha to come into my life. I am not Cinderella or some fantasy. I am an Alpha and I live my life according to my wishes. You have no clue what alphas do to their mates." "Luna.' I rolled my eyes at her. "Their life is so awful.' "LUNA.' she yelled at me. 'WHAT IS IT?' I shouted back, because of how terrified I felt. She shocked me. She then pointed at what was in front of me with a snicker. I looked over at where she was pointing at, confused as hell, when I realized what I had done with my eyes wide open. "Oh, I'm sorry.' I apologized and ran to the front of the cashier at the canteen with my tray. The woman at the cashier looked at me for a second before handing me the receipt. I didn't say a word and just took my food and left. "How could you hear me speaking out loud and not tell me the queue has ended?' "Seriously, I was trying to tell you it has ended. It was your turn to order food, but you kept talking on and on. That's why I yelled at you to get you back to your senses. How do you like that?' "You are not serious, Sandra.' I shook my head as we both strolled over to our table and began eating our food. "Of course, I am serious.' She took a huge bite of her hamburger. "So, what do you plan on doing?" "Stop asking me such a question." "I bet you were thinking of him all night,' she smirked. "Sandra.' "Bombastic Side Eye,' she boldly uttered. "Criminal Offense Side Eye.' mimicking the singer's voice wasn't so bad after all. "I know you are trying to make a joke, but let me eat.'
