Chapter 11 I could pretend I don’t know why I was compelled to go to Manzanar when of course I do. Thinking of Keiko, her family and families like hers, thinking of them trapped in a cage, victims of senseless prejudice, I knew I had to do more to help them. It was a month since Keiko and her family were carted away, and I decided I had to go to Manzanar to see for myself what was happening.
