“Where did you get the supplies?” I asked again. “The newspaper office like I said.” “The newspaper office isn’t open this time of night.” “I didn’t say it was open.” Keiko looked pleased with herself. “Did you break in?” I asked. Keiko shrugged. “The door wasn’t locked, so I opened it like I would open any other door.” She flashed her half little girl/half wise woman grin. “Did anyone see you?” “I wouldn’t have gone in if anyone was there.” I laughed at her matter-of-fact manner. “Thank you, Keiko, but don’t break into anywhere again.
