CHAPTER THREE

Kiara

I went to an ice cream parlor to treat Jessie with her favorite ice cream for finding a solution for my problem.

I was heading towards the exit but unexpectedly I bumped into something no it was a person. I was prepared for the fall and also I was ready to lose my ice cream but unexpectedly that person saved me from falling on the floor. As I opened my eyes the first thing that caught my attention were his eyes and the way he was staring at me, instantly I escaped from his arms.

“I am sorry” saying I walked out without turning back but I think today luck was not on my side.

A robber blocked my way and started demanding money and my mobile.

“Mister this is not the right way to earn money,” I said to him.

“I know what is the right way. So keep your mouth shut and hand over your wallet before I change my mind and stab you” he said with arrogance.

It clicked my wrong nerve and the next moment he was on the ground wrenching with pain as I kicked him.

I left the place immediately before he recovered from his pain.

This day was really an unexpected day for me and I hope tomorrow is not another unexpected day.

Ashton:

“Ash I didn't expect this from you,” said Amelia as soon as she opened the door.

“I know, but they requested me with their cute faces and it was difficult to avoid their cute faces” I replied walking towards the living room.

Amelia left while shaking her head.

“Why can't you reply to my messages ash?” I heard Violet's voice.

“I was busy violet and what are you doing here at this time?” I asked.

“How can I miss your birthday celebration,” said Violet, showing her excitement.

“My birthday is tomorrow,” I told her.

“I know but when I came to know that you celebrate your birthday in advance with your brother then I thought to join you guys,” said Amelia.

I nodded at her.

“Hi, Kyle and Claire,” said violet.

“Hi, Aunt” they greeted her.

“I have chocolates for you guys, ” said violet.

They smiled and walked towards her for chocolates. These kids can follow anyone for chocolates.

“See, I told you she is interested in you,” said drake.

“I am not interested and when did you come?” I asked him.

“A few minutes back” replied Drake while munching on his chips.

“Hi, Drake and violet” Jade greeted them while entering the living room.

“Hi bro, I heard you baked the cake and I hope it is edible,” said Drake, Jade nodded in reply.

“Wow jade you baked a cake,” said violet.

“Yes, and it is edible because it is not my first time,” said Jade while laughing.

We laughed at his comment.

“These two always like to eat chocolates and ice cream at night,” said Jade walking towards them.

“Dad, violet aunt brought them and it is a bad manner to waste food right, '' said Claire. These kids nowadays know how to escape from their parents.

“Yes I know but they cause cavities. So avoid them at night otherwise your mom is going to band them for a week or two,” said Jade.

“No, dad, we will avoid them at night,” said Kyle and Claire nodded in agreement.

Later we had a meal which was equal to a feast prepared by my brother and sister-in-law. Amelia tucked Kyle and Claire to sleep, and we sat in the living room with wine.

“Why is violet not leaving when it is almost eleven?” I heard Drake whisper to Amelia as soon as he saw violet left to use the washroom.

“She is going to stay at our house today” whispered Amelia.

“What!! But why?” questioned drake.

“She wants to join us for ash's birthday celebration. She requested me, and I was unable to deny” answered Amelia.

“Man, I think she is going to propose to you,” said drake.

“I don't think so,” I replied, sipping my wine from my glass.

“I don't think so” came his reply. We paused our conversation as violet was back.

“Let's have a talk with mom and dad” jade came with the laptop.

My Mom and Dad were on vacation enjoying their olden days. In our family, we maintain a proper custom to celebrate our birthdays with family members without fail. It was my grandmother's idea although we have our own lives we gather together to celebrate our family members birthday.

“Hi Mom and dad,” I said as soon as they appeared on the screen.

“Hi, Son we are unable to celebrate your birthday together, ” said mom.

“Mom don't worry we can do it next year,” I said.

We had a talk with our parents until the clock showed twelve and then jade brought the cake which he baked.

They made me cut the cake, which I don't like but for my family's happiness, I don't mind doing it once a year. Everyone wished me.

Drake even sang the birthday song and it is getting worse with each year but still, I let him sing freely due to the only one reason and that is even if I stop he won't listen and still continues to sing.

“Drake, please stop,” all of us said once.

“What!! I am best at singing” he said in one of his famous dialogues. According to him he is best at everything.

At last, he stopped with us glaring at him.

The cake was really edible and it was delicious also.

“Ash, I want to talk to you privately,” said violet. When I was heading to my room.

I, half nodded with confusion. We walked to the garden.

“What is it?” I asked her.

“Ash the thing is...” she said while stammering.

“What is it?” I asked her.

“I like you” came her reply.

“What!!” I was shocked by her confession.

“Sorry violet but I don't feel the same for you,” I said.

“You don't like me now but you may start to like me in the future, Let's date now,” she said.

“It's not like that violet. I don't want to date anyone” I tried to explain to her.

“Why?” she asked.

“I want to marry the girl I date for the first time and I don't think it is you” I replied to her. It may sound rude but I went through this many times and their questions were the same although the girls were different.

“What!! You never dated before” came her question.

“Yes, ” I replied.

“Unbelievable,” she said while shaking her head.

“I know but it is the truth” I replied with a smile because I received this compliment many times and some girls even asked if I am a gay.

“But, I am not going to leave you. Who knows you may feel something for tomorrow” saying she walked away.

I was walking to my room but on the way, I heard some sounds from the kitchen. I walked following the sound and there I found my brother.

“What are you doing?” I asked as I found him searching for something in the kitchen.

“I was searching for ice. I want to have a glass of wine” came his reply.

“I will join you” we both sat in the drinks room with a glass of wine.

“What did she say?” asked jade.

“Same she said she likes me” I replied.

“When are you going to date?” asked jade.

“I don't know I've never met a girl who can ignite an unknown emotion in my heart.....while saying it the girl from ice cream parlor came into my mind.

“What happened, why did you stop?” asked jade.

“I never came across a girl who can skip my heartbeat, I want to like, love and marry only one girl. I want my first love to be the last one,” I said although some may find it cheesy but I want only one girl in my life.

“I hope you meet that girl soon,” he said.

I nodded at him but I think I came across her because she gave rise to a new emotion in my heart. I don't when I am going to see her again but if I come across her again then I am not going to leave her.

“What are you thinking?” asked jade.

“Nothing, let's finish the drink. I am sleepy and I have a lunch meeting tomorrow,” I said.

Kiara:

“Jessie notify your friend to reach Lotus restaurant before our lunch hour starts because I just have only lunchtime to meet Stella,” I said.

We were heading to our workplace and today is the day I have to meet Stella with my boyfriend and I hope this meeting goes properly. If in future I again meet Stella then I can say that I broke up with him but in the first place, I have to show this boyfriend.

“Ok, don't worry he is going to act as a perfect boyfriend,” said Jessie.

“I don't need perfect Jessie. I just want a boyfriend that too only for today's lunchtime” I said.

“Ok, ” she replied.

It has been ten minutes. I am waiting for my fake boyfriend in front of the lotus restaurant and Stella is waiting inside the restaurant, but he didn't show up.

“Hello, Jessie Where is your friend?” I asked as soon as she answered the call.

“Kiara actually what happened is,” she said while stammering.

“What?” I asked impatiently.

“His roommate tried to commit suicide, and he was the one who admitted him the hospital” she replied.

“Then what am I going to do with Stella?” I asked her.

“I have the best option,” she said.

“What is it?” I asked her.

“We just want a person to pretend as your boyfriend just for a half an hour right” she replied.

“Yes,” I said.

“Then find someone who looks decent and request him to be your boyfriend for half an hour. That's it” she said.

“What!!! How can I?” I said with shock.

“Then say the truth to Stella. These are the only options left for you. Decide wisely and implement carefully” said Stella.

“No way. I am not going to ask a stranger to be my boyfriend” I said to her.

“It's your wish now. All the best” saying she cut the call.

Ah!! I will never treat her with ice cream again but I have a huge problem and less time.

I was still standing there in my thinking mode. My phone vibrated indicating the incoming call and it was from Stella. I decided one thing that I am not going to let her taunt me again. I have decided to ask for help from a stranger.

Just I have to ask a stranger for help and the help is to pretend as my boyfriend that too just for half an hour.

Yes, you're saying as if you're going to ask for a lift. Said my inner self.

What will happen if that stranger wants to be your real boyfriend, and what if you want to be his real girlfriend....said again my inner self.

No, It is not going to happen and please keep quiet. I have to search for a boyfriend in five minutes.... I requested my inner self.

Ok, all the best.....came its reply.

I walked inside the restaurant. She is waiting for me on the first floor and I have to find someone on the ground floor.

I scanned the whole floor and my eyes landed on one person. His back was facing me and it looked like he was on call, and he is the only person I found alone and that means he is the one.

I walked towards him. He is dressed in a business suit, and he is looking decent to me.

“Excuse me,” I said standing beside him but I got no reply.

Taking a step forward and a deep breath I started speaking.

“Excuse me, Can you be my boyfriend for half an hour?” I asked him knowing my words can cause a shock to him.

“Huh” responded that man was turning towards me but still looking lost.

“I am asking for a favor sir, can you be my boyfriend for half an hour?” I asked him.

He kept staring at me with a lost expression.

“Sir please help me, you are looking like a sensible and good-hearted person here,” I said while moving her eyeballs back and forth and without waiting for his reply I started dragging him, making him startled.

I hope he doesn't think that I am mad.
