Jen had a shower and changed into my sweats. Everything seemed to be going according to plan until the buzzer rang, and I knew it was my time to leave.

I dipped my head like a child being sent to school for the first time. Worried, unsure about the whole day, and even more scared about being alone. I always worked so hard; I never surrounded myself with friends. Even as a kid. Mom always complained about me being alone all the time, she would say it's not healthy, you need to make friends sometimes. I didn't take after either mom or my sisters; they all had an influx of friends. I enjoyed my alone time a lot more than I enjoyed being around people; until I became friends with Jen. I didn't know what I would do without her.
