It was after dark when Qildor arrived at Pilore’s house to find the mage and Wulf seated in front of the fireplace. “How was your first day?” the Alpha asked when Qildor took the remaining chair, pulling it closer to the fire. While he warmed his hands, Qildor replied, “Much as I hoped, although I did nothing particularly difficult.” He chuckled. “That did not come out quite how I meant it.
