Hayle's eyes widened as she tried to read the mysterious man who stopped just a few feet in front of her. His gaze remained unrelenting. But, just as suddenly as their encounter began, the man walked away without a word, leaving behind a whirlwind of unanswered questions.
For a few moments after the man disappeared, the dark aura he brought with him lingered. Hayle had to catch her breath, clutching her still-pounding chest. It might have seemed exaggerated, but that's how she felt.
"Doctor? Here's your steak."
