Hayle slowly opened her eyes and immediately widened them as her mind recalled what had happened the previous night. On top of that, she noticed that Jaxter's body was no longer in the bed beside her. Even the IV stand was hanging there unattended.
“Jax!” Hayle hurriedly got out of bed.
She cursed herself for having fallen asleep. She wasn’t even aware of when she lost consciousness. Now, she was panicking, searching for her husband.
“Jax!” Hayle ran towards the bathroom, hoping her husband might be inside. She didn’t find him there. While this confirmed that what had happened to her the night before was real, Hayle was also worried that he might have pushed himself and worsened his condition. A person who hasn’t moved for a while would certainly have its own way to return to normal.
