/Lukas POV/ I stared at my reflection for a few seconds, tugging at the tight expensive leather jacket. It did fit alright but sometimes it made me want to strangle the person who invented leather jackets. I could never move my arms without straining. Also whenever I wear the black jacket my back felt sweatier than usual. It was a necessity so that I could easily blend with the crowd. One would argue that I was just being modest because wherever I go people gathered around. As if I was some kind of magnet. I never got the appeal about it but will never complain because I enjoyed the attention. "Master" A voice made him blink. My eyes looked over my shoulders only to notice it was my personal caretaker, Beau with wings defenceless by his sides. With his hands folded together, he was staring at the floor, too afraid to make eye contact. I snarled, "What?" "Your ride is here, Master. The driver is Anns son so there won't be any problem" Nodding my head my hands went towards the jacket. The buttons were still jumbling so I had given up on trying. The heavy Rolex watch on my wrist and sleek Berluti boots made me take a sharp breath. It felt too much for a club but I rarely get out of the place so it was a nice change. "I'll be out in a minute" Beau hummed softly, his head bent down, "Is there anything else you need, Master?" "Nothing just get out of here" The voice was enough to send him scrambling out of the room. It was something I enjoyed, barking orders at the staff and letting them do every single work. Maybe those twinkies were right about me needing to go out and socialize more. A guy needs to balance his anger somehow. The cab ride was as usual as smooth sailing. Most of the staff thought that I was out for the party but it was to collect my money. The owner promised day to send my share every month but he never did that. Usually, this kind of stuff was below my pay grade but I decided to teach him a lesson myself. Show him the real guy he was messing with. "Master where do you want me to wait?" I blinked at the driver, unable to remember his name. Well, it's not my fault that he had such an unforgettable name. "In the parking lot and Ann's son...behave" Flashing my eyes at him I turned around. When the bouncers noticed me they immediately opened the other side of the gate and ushered me inside. They all had a fair idea of what I was known for. Or maybe they simply saw me the last time I was in the club. Stepping inside the club I made a face. What kind of song was that? No wonder the owner was not earning anything. If he was going to open a club as grand as this he could at least play some nasty songs. Who even comes to the club to dance to the romantic songs? He desperately needed my attention now more than ever. With that thought in my mind, I pushed through the sweaty bodies. My throat was parched and I needed something strong. It was useless anyway, to drink because I could never get fully intoxicated. The taste, however, entices me and leaves me wanting for more. That's the only reason I drink not because I want to get drunk. My palms started stinging more like an itch as soon as I moved towards the bar. The sudden pain made me narrow my eyes at my hand. Was I allergic to something? I thought. It made no sense why I felt the sudden tingling in my hands and unable to breathe. Truly made me feel like someone was sitting on my chest and holding my breath. Someone crashed into me and I winced, the tingling feeling getting stronger as I walked forward. Maybe I was dreaming. Blinking my eyes several times I tried to make my way without stumbling into anyone. Even if I don't get intoxicated maybe I can distract myself from the sudden pain. As I neared the bar my eyes shifted around until it landed on a girl. The pain was forgotten when I noticed that she was clearly uncomfortable. Before she could stand up the guy beside her held her wrist tightly, almost making her lose her balance. White-hot rage bubbled inside my stomach at the sight. Seeing her so trapped and vulnerable flared something inside. With my jaw clenched tightly I narrowed my eyes at her wrist. My feet automatically moved in her direction and before I could make sense of what was going on I was standing right behind the guy. Clearing my throat I poked him. "Is there a problem?" The girl blinked at me. For a second I almost forgot how to breathe. She was the prettiest creature ever. Her long brown hair was loose, few bangs on her forehead. With her doe eyes, she gawked at me. My eyes shifted to her red plump lips and I immediately thought of kissing her. She had an hourglass figure, all curves in right places and I couldn't help but imagine holding her waist while dragging her along, pinning her against the wall. "Who are you?" The guy sneered, glaring at me which was enough to snap me in reality. I turned my head around, trying to come up with a reason. She had no rings on any of her fingers so there was no way I could spin the old marriage story. Besides who would buy that? "I'm her boyfriend" I grinned, standing beside her. She gasped lowly, her eyes shifting in between both of us. He wouldn't be able to take me. "Okay, buddy move it! I have heard it enough" The guy laughed, his grip tightening on her skin. The pretty girl winced trying to break free which made my eyes red. How dare he disrespect me? And on top of that, he was fully convinced that whatever I said was a lie. This is why I cannot stand humans. They are the biggest selfish hypocrites on the planet who cannot love anyone but themselves. "I'm serious" He made a face, "Haha okay then. You can have her after my chance is over" At that I lost it. No way I was going to let him get away with that. Thrusting my hand I wrapped two fingers around his wrist and easily lifted his entire hand. It weighed nothing to me. He moaned, his eyes widened and trying to free his hand but I made no attempt to let it go. If he thought doing something like that to the pretty girl was okay he had another thing coming. From the corner of my eyes, I noticed that she was shaken up, sitting on the barstool and clutching her bruised wrist. "Leave me" The guy yelled pushing at my chest with his other hand but I didn't even move an inch. His eyes grew wide and he was trying harder than before. "Why don't you pick on someone your size asshole?" I spat, finally letting go of his hand as it was turning green. He could easily die in the middle of the club but that's not what I wanted. "You're a freak" "Yeah, I've been called worse" I rolled my eyes and pulled back as he tried to make a run. "If I see you doing this again it's over for you" I yelled at his retreating form while the girl sat on the stool made a noise. "Hey, are you alright?" My voice went softer, breathing normal as I started at her. It was strange but I didn't focus on it. She hummed, raising her head and showed me her wrist, "It's just light bruising. I'm fine" The skin was slightly red and it reminded me of that asshole holding her. I should've killed him instead of letting him run away. She cleared her throat, "Thank you so much for saving me" I pinched the bridge of my nose, still my nose scrunched, "I was just doing what needed to be done. Humans are not very decent beings. They tend to let their desires take over and this is the result of that" At my words, her lips twitched a bit and it made me worried that I might have said something wrong. Why did I even ramble? Hope she doesn't find anything suspicious.  "They are not." "Are you here alone?" I changed the topic so that she couldn't question any further.  She shook her head and turned her head towards the dance floor, "With my best friend and her boyfriend. They are dancing" "They left you all alone?" I frowned "It's all right. By the way, I'm Talia" She softly said, her smile blinding and bright. "I'm Lukas" I gave her a forced smile, purposely not mentioning the part about me being a demon. ***
