Chapter 3- Accident or Coincidence.

1502 Words
Tracey Sharon and I sat down on the chair at the reception wondering why we were called back into the office by the receptionist. “Sir, they are here, should I bring them upstairs?” the receptionist said nicely into the phone while casting an evil glance at us. I wonder why she has to be so rude. “yes sir, we will be right there,” she said, into the phone before hanging up. “Please follow me, I hope you guys didn't do anything stupid because if you did, you would be sorry,” she said rudely while swaying her tiny waist in all directions. I exchanged looks with Sharon who by now was getting pissed by the b***h attitude. I couldn't help but notice how skinny she was and from the way she walked and the heels she had on, it felt as if she was going to break at any given moment. Sharon and I kept exchanging looks as We both tried suppressing the laughter that was threatening to elope from our lips. We followed her to the elevator, and she punched in some numbers that I didn't bother to look at as I was busy eye-communicating with Sharon while making caricatures of her mannerisms. The lift door soon opened, and we came out; she asked us to sit while she walked into an office. But we were a bit reluctant as the black leather chairs looked very expensive we felt sitting on them would probably ruin the beauty. The entire scenery was magnificent, if we thought the offices downstairs were beautiful, this one outclassed them all. From the white painting on the wall to the well-placed artwork and the furniture, everything looked breathtaking. We stood at a spot while scanning the office as we didn't want to damage anything that would warrant anyone to insult us. Let's just say we were been too careful. Another thing that was troubling my mind was why we were asked back into the office when I knew we both did horribly at the interview. The only answers we knew from all the questions that we were asked were our names. The others sounded gibberish to us, but it was so funny to look at the various expressions on the faces of those asking the questions. It was so glaring to them that we were not prepared for the job as we didn't even know that the company was into real estate. But we did stylishly take a lot of pictures, oh shoot, perhaps that's why we were called back. Maybe they don't allow people to take pictures without authorization. Even though I was itching to tell Sharon my thoughts, I was also careful not to be seen, as it was evident that we were facing a two-way mirror. I wonder who could be watching us on the other side of the mirror, what is the person thinking? We sat anxiously while waiting for what was going to happen next. It didn't take long as the door soon opened, and the handsome man I had seen downstairs earlier walked out gracefully. It felt as though the air became thinner with his presence and I felt this strong connection with him. It felt as if everything thing else was just blurry, leaving the two of us in outer space. Now that he was no longer putting on his shades I could tell that his eyes were bright green and mesmerizing. He walked out casually with both hands in his pocket and there was something about the way I felt around him. I couldn't understand my feelings for him, especially since I have never had an actual crush or boyfriend. But here I was blushing and gushing over this man who practically took my breath away just by doing nothing. “Hi, my name is Devin Hester, and this is my sister Esther. I know you both have been wondering why you were called back in here, especially since you two were the worst candidate that was recorded today,” he said and paused as if waiting for us to say something in our defense. Even though his composure and tone seemed rude, I happily let it slide as I was carried away by his dominating aura. It was almost impossible to think that he was a human; how could a human look this good? It's almost criminal. I said in my head. “As you already know, only one person is needed for this job and I am afraid that would be you,” he said, returning his eyes to me. Holding his eyes in mine felt different; it was as if we had met before, and I could feel my stomach tighten with what I couldn't exactly say it was. Anxiety? Nervousness? Or excitement? I looked speechlessly at him, I was wondering why he would pick me out of the other girls that came. Is he feeling the same emotions running through my body or is this just a coincidence? While there was a tiny part of me that felt like screaming and turning down the offer since I gave zero ideas of what would be expected of me, but also, there was this bigger part of me that wanted me to take it. “Hmm, hmm,” someone sounded as if clearing their throat and that was what broke our eye contact. I didn't even realize that I had been staring at him the entire time, as I looked away wishing there was a way to hide the heat appearing on my cheeks. I later got to know that it was his sister who made that sound; she was smiling while stealing glances at me and her brother, who also appeared to be looking a little bit embarrassed but doing everything within him not to let it show. “So do you accept the offer, or are you going to keep us standing all day?” He asked in a stern voice. “Yes, I accept, thank you,” I said happily without thinking as I hugged Sharon, who had been giggling the entire time. “Good, my sister here will train you on everything you need to know and you should be moving into your new accommodation by the weekend so you can start your job on Monday,” he said. “Please can my friend come with me?” I asked while I prayed silently in my heart, that he does not kick against it. “It's your accommodation, you can do whatever you please with it as long as you don't become a nuisance to others around you,” Ouch, that hurts. “Thanks,” I said suddenly becoming conscious of myself. “You may leave now; one of my drivers will drop you girls off to know where to pick you up by the weekend, on Saturday, to be specific,” he said, and with that, he walked back to his office. “Welcome to the company,” the lady he introduced as his sister said to me smiling. “Thanks,” I replied to her, while Sharon threw her hands around me joyfully. **** Devin I got back to my office and sat down on my chair while staring at the ladies through my window. Going closer to her made me realize that she had beautiful, spotless skin combined with bright gray eyes that turned her face into a work of art. How I wish she was not so fat, maybe she would have fitted into what I expect in a potential mate. I watched her giggle with her friend before they walked into the elevator. Esther walked back into my office and looked at me suspiciously. “Start talking,” she said trying not to let the smile hanging on her side lips show. “What do you want me to talk about?” I asked, trying to be all bossy with her, but the Esther I know wouldn't give up. “It's either you tell what is going on, or I will tell Mum what I think,” she said cunningly. “So what do you think it is,” I asked her while relaxing in my chair. “I think she is your mate,” she said dramatically. “What makes you think that,” I asked trying not to give out any emotion “Because you are my brother, and I could feel your heart beat faster the moment she walked in,” “You are mistaken, I only employed her because I have decided to give in to your and mum's wish,” “Which is?” “I'm getting married to Uriel,” “Wow, congrats, I'm so happy for you! I'm sure Mum would be more than happy,” she said, running over to where I was to hug me. “You can't marry Uriel” my wolf stated angrily. “You watch me,” I spurred at him.
