Chapter seven“Bring me a brandy and soda!” Lord Sedgewyn ordered as he finished his bath. When Dawes had one waiting for him, he said, “I am tired, Dawes.” “You’re doin’ too much, my Lord!” Dawes replied. “I know that,” Lord Sedgewyn answered, “but I am also worried about Miss Norina. I wonder where she can be?” Dawes did not answer. He only helped his Master into his evening coat. He was thinking as he did so that his Lordship was much thinner and more lined than he had been even a few weeks earlier.
