OLD man Grimes pushed his way through the murmuring crowd when he saw the horses approaching. He waved them down.
“What’s going on, Larry?” asked Stone.

“There’s been a killing. Matthias has the witnesses inside.”

“Mr Jenkins. His wife and the Reverend discovered him. Seems like a g**g broke into the house and killed him stone dead. Mrs Jenkins, she’s in a terrible state. Doc Wycliffe gave her a sedative, but Miss Gower is with her right now.”
