Ace Today was the first day Courtney was coming over to tend to my needs. I couldn’t wait. My room needed a good going over. There was so much mess in here I couldn’t see my arse from my elbow. I grinned evilly; I had no idea how much rotten food was in here or even plates, glasses and cutlery. Mom had been on my ass for months as she couldn't find her kitchenware and knew I was the only lazy ass around here that that never brought anything down I used to be washed up and put away she was sick and tired of buying all new kitchenware because of my lazy ass. I had a good feeling about today, a very good feeling. I knew Ashton was grilling her about loosing to me and and that she was stupid enough to take the bait. I knew he would never shut the hell up about it once he started teasing her. Truth was that I couldn’t wait to spend some time with her. She wasn’t like the others. She seemed genuine and a good sport. I’d have to show her how things were done and how much I liked challenges. Brandon knew that all too well. He lost to me countless times and yet he kept going. He’d talked a lot about Courtney and Issac. He reckoned they were more just friends, but were too ashamed to admit it. Yeah, right they’re what, eleven? Is he dumb or something? They were too young for that s**t. Me and Brandon were best friends. I think he has a soft spot for Courtney, so did the guys with their banter, but they’d told me how she’d look at him like if she could kill him with her eyes she would. She’s eleven not eighteen. Dude get a grip on reality even in five or six years time. I doubt she will see you like toy like that. When a chick doesn’t like someone it clearly stays that way so you’ve got a cat in hell's chance to change that. The door closed just in time. “Are you sure about this Court? You can back out now and no one will think any less of you.” “No a deal I’d a deal. It won't be that bad.” “If I know my brother it will be. I’d back out now while you have the chance.” Time to ruin their girly time. “Good afternoon girls.” I said, smiling sweetly. My sister grunted, huffing. “Hey Ace, surprised you’re here aren't you at colleges?” “I am. I’m not in today, hun.” “Mmh.” Simone rolled her eyes. “Follow me sweetheart, let’s get this started the quicker you begin the better.” “Where are you taking me?’ “My room.” “No Ace, she doesn’t deserve to be mortified by your cesspit.” Simone said looking at Courtney. “Dont Court you can back out of it, I promise the guys won’t have to know.” “Oh no I don’t think so sis, this is on your head remember that.” “It’s fine, Sim. I just want to get this over and done with and go home.” “Wise choice, follow me.” I said, grabbing her hand and pulling her with me before she had a chance to back out. I opened my door. “Welcome to my room princess. I’d like you to clean it.” She walked in with a hint of disgust, and scrunched her nose. “Sorry I can’t stay here.” She said, running out to throw up her lunch, no doubt. I sniggered, even my mom doesn’t dare to enter my room. Courtney I ran to the bathroom throwing up my entire stomach. How could he even sleep in that room? Does this guy even have a girlfriend? If he did, I hoped to god she never entered that room. It needed a warning on it, a toxic one at that. I swilled my mouth out and popped a fresh mint into my mouth heading out of the bathroom and back to the seas put he called his room Simone wasn’t half wrong when she called it a cesspit, it was a goddamn war zone. I hoped to god there wasn’t any mouldy food in there, my stomach churned I hoped I wasn’t gong to throw up again. I don’t think I have anything else left inside of me. He stood by the door grinning like a Cheshire Cat. “Done hurling now?” ‘You disgust me.” “Why thanks. Love you too.” I cut my eyes at him. “I pity the girl that you bring in here.” “Darling, the only girl I let into my room is the girl that I marry.” I grunted. “So why are you letting me in?” “You lost the game and the best way to fulfil the deal you made is to clean it up.” He said handing me the bin bags, cleaning solutions and gloves. I think I’m going to need more than this to clean that rubbish tip. I trapped them off him huffing. “I have to be back by six and the weekends are out too. I have to practice for the Christmas play.” “Fine to the first, but the second ugh ugh you’ll be practicing in school. So, try again.” “Fine I have to go to Isaac’s to clean his cesspit.” He laughed. “So you lost that deal too?” “No, we drawed, so the weekends are for swapping shifts.” I nodded. I liked the way this girl worked. She was like one of the guys. Up for anything I think we’re going to get in just fine. I began to clean his room. I was right, a bomb had gone off on here and it was going to take longer than today to clean it up. I had covered my mouth so I didn’t inhale the toxins in the air and so that I didn’t throw up. I didn't need anything extra to clean up. It took me until six pm to do a quarter of it with him standing by the door barking orders and putting me off what I was doing . He began cracking jokes and being annoying, if he doesn’t shut the hell up I’m going to flip and tell him to do it himself. Finally he shut up and I told him I had to get home to shower and eat. “ShalI walk you home, princess?” “No!” “Whoah, what wrong princess? Take a step back and chill.” “Don't tell me to chill! You’ve been on my case for three goddamn hours!” “I wanted to make sure you were doing it right.” “You put me off ], next time leave me to it I’ll get it down a lot quicker.” He shook his head. “Sorry no can do princess. It’s my room.” “It can’t look any worse than it already does. Or don’t you trust me?” “I need to make sure you don’t throw anything away that’s valuable.” “Like what? It’s a junk yard in here. I'll be surprised if you’ve got anything worth keeping in all this rubbish!” “Still.” “Fine. I’m going home.” “I’ll walk you.” “No! I’m fine.” “It’s getting late, princess and it’s dark, your mom will flip out if you walk home alone.” “Fine.” I huffed. He smiled. “We’ll let’s go then.” We left his room and headed downstairs where Simone and their mom were in the kitchen. “I'm walking Courtney back.” “You can stay for supper if you like Courtney.” “Maybe another time mom had probably doen supper and I need a shower.” “Sure I’ll hold you to that.” Simone’s mom said, smiling. “I’ll come with you.” “No it’s fine sis I’ll l walk her home you stay here and help mom.” “Bu..” “It’s fine, Simone let your brother walk her home. You can help me dish up.’ She looked at Ace. “Don't be too long, supper is almost done.” “I won’t. Come on Courtney let’s get you home.” I smiled. “I’ll see you at school tomorrow Sim.” She nodded. “Bye.” “Bye Courtney.” “It’s nice seeing you again Courtney let you mom know you’re welcome to stay for supper next time your here.” “I will, thanks.Bye.” She smiled and I followed Ace out of the house, he closed the door and we headed down the street.
