My mouth agape. I couldn't believe my own brother had spoken to me like that! How dare he!
I know he thinks a lot of Courtney, but this is our fight not his. We screwed up. We all expected too much and thought Courtney could handle it all. She had at the beginning but everything he threw our way worsened. It made Courtney look like a heartless b***h. I can't believe she had cheated on Issac with that pick Barraman. I would never have believed the picture of her and Jet Wolfen. None of us would've even have thought it was true if it wasn't for Issac having it out with her and claiming she'd done it once before and he'd kept it slide but wouldn't this time.
Damn this s**t had gone down fast. The last thing we all expected was her to try and end her life because of it all. We'd been friends for years, we all knew she had anxiety and the slightest thing flailed it so we should've known better than to start this in the first goddamn place. She had not suffered any attacks in the past few years so we thought she would be okay.
Well at least now we know why Barraman was going after her; she'd pushed him away and no one pushed Ashton Barraman away or they would regret the day they ever did. And now Courtney was paying for her decision though the right one he would never think it, because if anyone knew the great Ashton Barraman had been blown down he'd never live it down.
I know we needed to make things right but I wasn't sure how. She was still in hospital and my brother was right she'd never forgive us.
Thomas
My brother landed another punch to my jaw angrily. I know I deserve it, but I won't let him know that. "You're supposed to be taking care of her, looking out for her. You agreed Thomas. You f'n agreed, seeing as none of us were there to watch over her and intervene and deck that s**t Barraman so he knew never to mess with her ever afuckingain!"
"I know he just got to me to all of us."
"He has done more than that he f'n brainwash all of you against her! She's your friend you should've stuck to your guns and stuck by her and not side with that f'k face period."
"She cheated on Issac bro the guy idolised her and she cheated on him with not just jet f'n wolf but with f'n Barraman too. Not to mention the s**t he had in us alm the s**t she that only knew about what kind of friend goes around telling a piece of s**t like Barraman their private business?"
"What kind of friend believes the guy that stirs all the s**t to get rid of the competition and sides with them?!"
I stared at him blankly. I didn't have an answer. He asked me so many times and I couldn't answer because only a shitty friend would do such a thing and I was one of those shitty friends.
"Your lucky I haven't told Jossiah as yet or he'd be on the first plane back from Berlin and gave your f*****g head blown off and I wouldn't f'n stop him cause you deserve it. All of you deserve it. Book your f'n ideas up bro sort this shift out with Courtney or I will tell Jossiah everything and I mean f'n everything!"
My mouth opened and I looked stunned after my brother was unable to say another word spinning quickly closed my mouth.
"Do you understand Thomas? Sort this s**t out, or I will talk. "
"Sure I understand."
"You better or else." He said angrily, tuning away from me and storming away, slamming his bedroom door shut.
We'd got in pretty well until two months ago when this s**t began and he warned me everything would blow up in our faces and he'd been right now we'd lost a good friend cause we'd believed that she'd gsvd information about us to Ashton f'n Barraman. What sort of friends believed a guy that was tormenting their friend more than the friend that was being tormented? Bad friends, that's who.
We hadn't even been to visit her since she was admitted two f'n weeks ago. None of us even knew how she was doing we could only hope and pray she was doing okay.
Issac had shown up to school back and blue several times, we all kinda guessed she'd had a run in with either Jet Wolfe, Bryce or her brother we chose not to say anything to make the situation worse so all we could do was hope and pray when she returned she would forgive us, it was a long shot, but we could only hope and pray.
Theo and Eva
Everything had gone to s**t ever since Ashton Barraman had dropped had final bomb, now we all knew why he was targeting Courtney even more than usual. It was payback for rejecting him. But he knew Courtney was with Issac and they were inseparable, so why bother trying to break when they had and Courtney was dumb enough to let the jerk kiss her and kiss him back, but Jet Wolfe nagh. She would never be dumb a second time around looking at a piased of Jet Wolfe when ye confronted all after Courtney wastsjrn to hospital after slitting her wrists he was pissed that we'd all believed Asher over her and made it blatantly clear there was nothing going on between them they were friends nothing more nothing less. There would never be anything between them cause she was in love with issac but he was to dumb and stupid not to see how insanely in love either himshd was. She had to be, to tolerate his s**t.
I couldn't agree more that Issac was a possessive asshole when it came to Courtney. If they weren't together they were texting or face timing it made me sick. He was like a love sick puppy when it came to her and always would've been I'd it wasn't for Asher digging the knife in and twisting it.
"Are you okay Theo?"
"Mmh." I said looking at Ava snapping out of my thoughts. "I'm fine."
"You looked like you were a million miles away."
"I was just thinking about everything. "
She gulped. "Don't be mad at me but I done something stupid."
"What did you do Ava?"
"I told Jossiah what was going on."
"Why would you do that for?"
"He cares for her, Theo. He had a right to know what Barraman was up to and what had gone down. He was pissed."
"So would I be, just don't tell Isaac he'll think you were going behind his back and giving information out to the enemy."
"I wasn't. I swear I just didn't know what to do. She's our friend Theo and we let her down. We believed him over her."
"What did hossiah have to say about it all?"
"Like I said he was vexed but more at his friends for not telling him s**t about what was going down. He was really angry, Theo, I had to persuade him to stay in Berlin and not come here to see how she was."
"So he's sticking the army out?"
"He is."
"Are you going to ever tell Courtney the real reason why she never saw him on his last day in the hell hole?"
"No. He wants to tell her himself."
"Are we the only ones who know?"
"Thomas does too."
I nodded. "She'll be okay Ava."
"I hope so. I miss her Theo. She was the one who glued us together though she had no idea she did."
"I know," I kissed her brow. "We'll get through this Ava,of us. We'll all be friends again and show that piece of s**t he can't win against all of us."
"I sure hope so."
