The night of the play was finally here, it was finally happening. God, I was so nervous. We've been practicing for two whole months now.
The teacher had decided the school hall wasn't big enough to pull it off, so they had come to some kind of arrangement with the owner of the theatre in town, yeah you heard mf right had theatre.
The school choir would be joining me in my rendition of a Christmas Carol to open the show and the closing song.
My whole family was coming and that made me more nervous than ever. I needed to nail this and not look like a dummy who'd forgot the verses tk the carols.
There were three classes in total that were pulled into doing the play which may as well have been a panto.
We were all dressed in clothes from the charles dickens period we looked stupid hilarious but the show must go on. The teachers rallied around getting us into our positions and the music began. No doubt the majority of the theatre was full being the casts parent’s. The curtains began to open show time. My friends would be playing the different characters in the panto: CRATCHIT would be played by Theo, SCROOGE would be played by Issac, FRED would be played by Jayden. MRS. CRATCHIT would be played by Simone, MARTHA would be played by Aria and THE GHOST OF CHRISMAS PAST would be played by Eva.
They all bowed and the curtains went down, the crowd clapped and the curtains came back up, the orchestra played and I began my solo of The First Noel.
All of the patents stood up in a standing ovation. I smiled bowing.
The curtains closed then reopened we al stepped forward holding hands all of our parents clapping and whistling. We all stepped back and the curtains closed again. “That was fantastic all of you well done, especially you Miss. Mendez is like you to Join the school choir as the lead and come see me Monday for our last music lesson before the Christmas holidays.”
“Yes Miss.”
We al owe the back stage to get changed and meet with our parents and families to be hugged and tell us what a fantastic play Panto we put on, before we all headed home. “I’m proud of you sis getting up there alone and singing in front of us all well done .”
“Thanks Tucker.”
He put his arm around mr and side hugged me. I’m so glad of moments ,I’m these the ones you’re truly grateful for the ones where you have your family around you congratulation you on an accomplishment especially one that could’ve caused me to have anther seizure, but did the complete opposite.

I was so glad school was over for a whole two weeks. The play was a total hit and I'd gotten so many congratulations from everyone even Ace and Brandon on how well I sang. I was a blushing mess after all the positive comments. Our music teacher had congratulated us all for a second time. She was already planning a recital.
My parents and brother hugged me. I was surprised to see Bryce with them. "Surprised angel?"
"Just a little."
"I couldn’t miss your debut. It was fantastic. Who thought you had a set of pipes on you like that. You were fantastic angel. You'll go far one day with those pipes."
"Thanks." I said shyly, blushing.
He hugged me. "I'm staying over yours for the holidays. My olds okayed it as I didn't want to travel to my grandparents. It’s so boring, at least being at yours I can see Christmas and new year in with you."
I smiled. "Great." I said, not too convincingly. God what did to deserve this? They'd all be around for New Year's that's for sure. We were having a new year's party which lasted from New Year's Eve till midnight New years day. Fantastic.
"Courtney, Bryce we're heading home now. We'll drop you off at home Bryce "
'Thanks Mrs. Mendez." He looked at me. "Coming angel?"
"I guess " I sighed.
He grinned widely, grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the theatre.
He finally let go of my hand when we approached the car and got in. Tucker shot daggers at him. Oh boy, he's mad again.
Bryce closed the door and we buckled up and my sad pulled away. We said our goodbyes to Bryce.
Tucker glared at me. What the hell had I done now?
We got out of the heading inside and I told mom and dad I was heading to bed. No doubt they wouldn't be far behind.
I wasn't even aware that Tucker had followed me. "What did Bryce say to you?"
I jumped, clutching my heart. I looked at my brother, he narrowed his eyes. "Geez Tucker give me a heart attack why don't you!"
"Well?"
"Well, what?"
"What did Bryce say to you?"
"Not much, he just congratulated me."
"Nothing else?"
"Just that he's staying here over the Christmas holidays because he doesn't want to stay at his grandparents or something." "What?!"
"He's staying here for.. "
'I heard Courtney, who decided this?"
"Our parents apparently."
"Great, now I've got to try and keep him away from you for two goddamn weeks." He muttered.
"We're friends, Tucker. "
"And he also has a crush on you. Why is everyone blind to this but me?"
"Everything will be fine Tucker. You will hardly know I'm here."
He nodded. "Night sis."
"Night Tucker."
He moped away, slamming his bedroom door. Damn mom and dad are going to get in the neck tomorrow. I thought, closing the door and I was right.
Oh oops, crap and double crap. I guess he hasn't told him yet.
Bryce has been at ours since the end of school for the winter holidays yay! Note the sarcasm.
But in reality it hasn't been that bad, well until Christmas morning when he approached me. "Close your eyes angel."
"Why?" I curiously asked.
"It’s a surprise. Close your eyes tight and no peeking.
I huffed out a sigh, closing my eyes. "Are they closed tightly angel?"
"As tight as I can get them." I said, I waited hoping this wasn't a joke and he'd pour something over my head. But, this is Bryce we're talking about not Barraman.
I felt his soft lips touch mine. He gently placed a kiss on my lips.
Bryce
I couldn't wait for the holidays to begin. I had begged and pleaded with my parents to let me stay at Tucker’s over the Christmas holidays, not that I don't love my grandparents I do. It's just so goddamn boring staying there for two whole and having to mingle with my family, a family we hardly ever see. This is the only time we get to see them. It doesn't even feel as if we're related. None of us talk and none of us get along. There's always arguments on Christmas and New years and were all glad to get home after the disastrous festivities. I don't even know why my parents have to suffer for two whole weeks with these two faced hypocrites. They finally caved in and said yes l.
I promised to be on my best behaviour or I'd be shipped to my grandparents house to suffer the same torture as my family as well as my parents.
My younger brother is skiing with the stuck up school he attends. Why did he have to be born with brains? He's the lucky one.
My parents are paying so much damn money for that private school he attends and here's me stuck in a public school. Not that I mind. I hate stuck up assholes. I'm just jealous of how smart he is and I'm not.
None of my friends know about him cause I never see him. Maybe one day I'll introduce him to the guys, as the genius of the household: aka my younger brother.
Everything's been going great though I haven't seen Courtney much.
She's been stuck in her room avoiding me and Tucker as much as she possibly can until dinner and supper when she finally graces us with her presence. We all had decorated the tree and played games on his xbox and PlayStation. She's getting good, she'll be beating Ash soon anc he won't like that one bit.
I had convinced Mrs. M to get some mistletoe to feel more Christmassy, and she had agreed. All I needed to do now was get Courtney under it. I grinned as she made her way into the lounge. Perfect timing angel.
"Close your eyes angel."
"Why?" She curiously asked.
"It’s a surprise. Close your eyes tight and no peeking.
She huffed out a sigh, closing her eyes. "Are they closed tightly angel?"
"As tight as I can get them." she answered.
I waited a while making sure she wasn't going to open them. I slowly moved forward pressing my lips on hers kissing her softly.
Her lips were so soft and tasted like strawberries. I knew I couldn't deepen the kiss or we may get caught so I gratuitously moved away. Courtney opened her eyes, looking at me in shock. "What the hell was that for?"
I grinned. Eyeing the mistletoe "A Christmas kiss angel."
She stood looking stunned at me, unable to utter a single word that was until Tucker broke her phaze out.
