NOAH

1133 Words
CLARA "Who are you?" I ask the man who has just helped me back to the bed. "Why am I here?" I add because I'm really confused. "Eat your food first and then we can get to know each other." he insists as he unwraps the mouth-watering fries and chicken. "What if I am not hungry?" I ask despite being extremely hungry. My stomach rumbles at that very moment, making me rub it using my fingers. "Just try and eat something and I promise to tell you everything know about your showing up here," he promises. "At least, let me know your name." I insist. "Well, if you insist, my name is Noah Frank and I am the Top Warrior of the Highrise Breeze Pack." "What?" I ask in surprise. "You mean I'm not in the Green Shade Pack? How did I get here?" I'm really confused and I need answers right away. "Can you at least eat something? I know you're starving." Noah insists. He doesn't appear to be a bad person after all. "How can I eat when I am inside a stranger's house, in a strange Pack with a stranger who I've never heard of all my life?" I'm becoming hysterical already. "I won't harm you Clara, I can never harm you!" he promises. Since my stomach is still rumbling, I decide to have a bite from the mouth-watering chicken and immediately after I have the first bite, I am unable to stop. I temporarily forget my predicament and concentrate on munching the chicken and fries as Noah watches in utter surprise. It seems he has never seen anyone as hungry as I am. After clearing the food, Noah takes the plastic containers and disposes them in a dustbin in the corner of his small room. He then hands a bottle of water to me and I empty its contents into my mouth. I then belch loudly in an unladylike manner and stretch my body then without any care in the world, I stretch myself and lie on the bed which acts as a couch and a sleeping place. "Why did they bring you here?" Noah asks, startling me. "Who?" I ask while trying to sit up on the bed. I'm so full! I overate since I haven't had fries and chicken in a long time! "Green Shade Pack Warriors. They said you are my mate and that they were strictly instructed and commanded to leave you here!" "Mate?" Immediately I ask that question, and the events of the previous day start flowing back into my mind. I have been playing! We both have! I vividly recall discovering that Asher is my Mate but before I go to accept him, my step-sister forcefully forces me to reject him even in his absence. I also recall overhearing Angela's and Alice's conversation about her cursed mate and Angela coming to urge me to marry him. Could he be this one? I also remember receiving a text from Asher telling me that he has had a rethink about us and our mate bond and that he wants to accept me face-to-face. I remember falling into his cheap tricks and eventually going to his house. I also recall his warm hug and before I could fully absorb it, Angela showed up, grinning wickedly and cunningly and before I knew it, I was lying on the floor after being hit and engulfed my whole being! "Are you okay?" Noah asks after realising that I'm staring into space as if I've completely zoned out. "I-I- it's nothing." I shake my mind after realising I was about to tell him unnecessary things. It's not yet time. "Can I ask you something." I say when I realise he has composed himself. He's no longer worried. "Yeah, sure. Anything." "Do you know which Pack I am from? I really can't remember anything." "As I told you before, warriors from the Green Shade Pack brought you here and insisted that you were my mate and they couldn't go back with you!" He explains. "Can you recall what really happened before they brought you here?" "I am a rogue!" I blurt out without giving it a second thought. "Rogue?" He asks in surprise. "You don't have any family members?" He adds and I shake my head. I'm going to play dumb so that he won't return me to my family. Angela and Alice are evil and I'm not ready to die on their hands. If Noah allows me to continue living here, I'll find a way to contact my father and tell him not to worry about me. "What about you and who do you live here with?" I ask so as to keep the conversation going. Ever since I regained consciousness, I've not been able to have a glimpse of the outside world and it's just now that I'm seeing the window. I should have at least walked there to see what's happening out there. "My father is the late Alpha Frank Miller of the Highrise Breeze Pack but-" "What?" I ask, looking around the room which is well lit with the bright electric bulb. An Alpha's son shouldn't be living in such a place! "Actually, my brother Andrew is the current Alpha since he took over from our father." He explains and I can sense that he's not comfortable talking about his family. He looks sort of pissed off! "Just lie down on the bed and sleep, I'll use the couch." He offers. "Couch?" I ask in surprise. "Isn't this the only room here?" Noah grins as he goes back to his jovial self. "Can I take you on a tour around the house? I have a small living room, a kitchen and a bathroom." "Don't worry, I'll get to see the whole house tomorrow morning." "Okay then, have a lovely night and incase you need to ease yourself, the washroom is next to the living room, on your left while the kitchen is on your far right!" He explains and I nod. Noah bids me goodbye and then leaves immediately and upon opening the door, that's when I peep and have a slight glimpse of the living room. Since my head is still heavy, I decide to sleep as I reminisce on yesterday's happenings. Asher, Angela and Alice will surely pay for making me suffer, that, I promise. Right now, I'll focus on getting better and eating well since I am with someone who seems to care about me even though I don't know which plans he has for me. I just hope he won't drive me away from his house thinking I am a rogue because I'll truly end up as one. I can't dare show up at Alice's place at all unless I want to die!
