The car slowly came to a halt in front of the sandy beach. Xavier turned off the ignition and removed his seat belt slowly. The wails that had turned to silent sobs had now left the crying girl deep in sleep. Xavier put his head on the steering wheel with his hand as support as he stared at Jessica. She had been crying non-stop so her face was all swell and her mascara had smudged up. Seeing the ruined make up Xavier is reminded of the first day they met outside the courthouse.
