Danyal turns back to me. "Do you know why they want to activate your blood?"
"I already said what I know."
"I know." Danyal runs a hand down his exhausted face. "I just thought you might have missed something."
"No, I didn't miss anything." As I say the words my mind immediately moves to my glowing veins and silver eyes. I look at Danyal, his gray eyes sizzling with frustration and I keep my mouth shut.
"Roman, you can go now. I'll draw up a plan and we can talk about it later."
Roman stands up, the strong muscles in his arms flexing as he does. "Brother. Carina." He dips his head in adieu and leaves.
"Carina," Danyal says, "Why didn't you tell me any of this?"
"I don't know, I just forgot." I slip my hand out of his.
