I can't help the gasp that leaves me. While I don't hold many good feelings to my former pack members, I can't help the horror and sorrow I feel for them.
"Roman," Danyal says, "please leave us."
Dipping his head in fare of goodbye, Roman leaves the office quickly. Silence follows him, neither of us ready to speak.
Danyal squeezes my hand as he reads the letter again.
Pinching the bridge of his nose, he asks. "Did you two, did you ever-"
"No!" I cut him off, knowing exactly what he's asking. "I despise that man."
He nods his head and I can feel the tension leave him.
"Carina." The way he says my name sends shivers through me. "I know that you don't want rules or to be boarded up. But until we resolve this issue, you can't leave the house."
"But-"
"Please, just listen." He stops me
