15 Charlie I have to apologize to Larkin for being so harsh, I think. Idly, I twirl a pen between my fingers, rocking back in my desk chair. The house is silent, because Sarah is still napping. I’ve been sitting at my Ikea desk, trying to concentrate, but I can’t. No, I can only think of Larkin. Of her smile, sometimes timid and sometimes radiant. Of her hair, the way she braids it so neatly, the way it lays on her shoulder just so. Of the way her eyes widened when I spewed bile at her in the clearing before I stormed off. I sigh.
