Dragging Curtis out from the back of the truck with a blindfold on him, "Remove the blindfold," said the Mummy. "This is not how to treat our guest," he added. On removing the blindfold, Curtis exclaimed on seeing a tall man looking like a zombie, his body parts were patched up and his face filled with lots of patches and with a saw in his right hand. "What the f**k!" Curtis exclaimed as he draws back. "Don't be afraid," the Mummy said. "Where is this place and what the f**k am I doing here?" Curtis asked as he looks around.
"You are in Mystic Community," a man known as James said as he walks in from behind. On seeing James, all the armed men stood at attention while the Mummy bowed to him. "I am James," he said as he offered Curtis his hand for a shake. "I am Curtis, the only surviving soldier," Curtis replied as he shook hands with James. "I must apologize for the way my men treated you while bringing you here. Please accept my sincere apologies," James said putting up a smile. "How did you know that?" Curtis asked staring at James. "I never mentioned that to you or the Mummy," Curtis added. "I got eyes everywhere," James replied with a smile. "Please take him to his quarters and let him clean up and change his clothes, we have a business to talk about," James said to one of the armed men that brought Curtis. "Alright sir," the man replied as he leads Curtis to the quarters.
As the zombies were dragging their body parts towards Nick and Judy, "Nick do something," Judy cried out seeing they were caught in the middle of the herd of zombies. "I am thinking," said Nick as he pulled out the pendant. "What are you doing?" Judy asked on seeing Nick talking to the pendant. "What does it look like I am doing?" Nick replied. "We got no time to talk to any pendant," Judy replied in anxiety.
Not quite long, Nick started floating in the air as Judy stared in awe, "You can fly?" she asked with total excitement. "What are you talking about?" Nick asked as he looks around seeing his legs are off the ground. "Oh s**t, I can fly!" he yelled in excitement. "Fly us out of here!" said Judy. "How am I supposed to do that?" Nick said. "Just figure it out," said Judy as she held Nick by the leg.
At this time the pendant began to float in the air and as the zombies were about dragging Judy and Nick, Nick floated a bit higher. With the number of rays coming out from the pendant, Nick powered up as he flew to a safe block. Without any skill, Nick landed his butt on the ground with Judy falling on him, "You should work on your landing skills next time," said Judy. "And also my flying skills too," Nick replied. "Where's the pendant?" Judy asked as she helped Nick up.
"Over there," said Nick as he pointed Judy's attention to the pendant. As Nick was about to pick up the pendant, the pendant sank into Nick's body; screaming in pain, Nick fell to the ground rolling. "Oh f**k! What do I do now?" Judy asked as she held Nick still on the ground.
The screaming led the herd of zombies back to Nick and Judy as they made their way to the next two blocks, "Oh s**t!" Judy exclaimed as she began tapping on Nick to regain consciousness. Exhaling deeply, Nick sat up with his eyes turned blue, "Oh s**t!" Judy exclaimed as he falls back. "Oh s**t what?" Nick asked sternly. "Your eyes just turned blue," Judy replied. "We should get away from the zombies and worry about my eyes later," said Nick as he stands to his feet. "Can you fly again?" Judy asked as she expresses fear of seeing the zombies dragging their body parts towards them. "We can find our way through," said Nick. "Are you insane?" Judy yelled. "You can't walk through the herds of zombies," Judy added. "Watch me," Nick replied as he dragged Judy close to him and with his hand he created a dome, shielding them from the reach of the zombies. "How did you do that?" Judy asked staring at Nick. "I don't know, I just figured out now," he replied. "You got the pendant in you," Judy asked staring at Nick. "I guess so," Nick replied with a smile. "Now let's get away from these ugly creatures," said Nick as they both walk through the herd of zombies while shielded by a dome.
At Mystic Community, James demanded Curtis be brought to him, and not quite long Curtis walked into James' apartment, "You sent for me!" said Curtis. "Yes I did," James replied. "You have served in the military for years before the outbreak and I need you to serve our community now," said James. "In what way?" Curtis replied. "I want you to handle my guards and be the head of the rangers," said James. "I'm not interested," Curtis replied. "You have served our country well and now our world is dead, why won't you help those alive as you have always protected mankind?" James asked with his eyes fixed at Curtis. "I am still not interested," Curtis replied. "You have two options," James said. "Is either you work as the head of the rangers or you end up in a body bag," James added. "You are bluffing," said Curtis as he glared at James. "I don't bluff," James replied. "And you know when you end up in a body bag what it means, huh?" James added. "Screw you!" said Curtis. "Slit his throat," James said to the Mummy as he quickly raised his saw. "Hold on, I am in!" said Curtis. "Wise choice," James replied as he hands a badge and a cowboy hat to Curtis.
Seeing that Curtis has left, the Mummy walked up to James saying, "I don't like him!" "You don't need to like him," James replied. "He is now a ranger and must protect our course," James added. "Do you think we can count on him?" the Mummy asked. "If we can't count on him, we make him count on us," James replied. "How close are we with the new test subjects?" James asked. "Very close," the Mummy replied. "Keep on the good work," James said with a smile.
"How long do we have to get to New Haven?" Judy asked glancing at Nick. "We are already there," Nick replied pointing at the tall wood gate ahead of them. "I told you it exists," Nick said with a smile. "You are damn right," Judy replied as they both paced up.
Approaching the tall wood gate, an arrow was fired to stop them from taking a step forward as a voice said in a loud tone, "Go back to wherever you came from. New visitors are no longer welcomed!" "We have come a long way to go back now," Nick replied. "You have nothing to offer," the voice said again. "I am a scientist, I have a lot to offer," Nick replied in a loud voice.
On hearing this, the wood gate was quickly opened as a lady with wasp-waist walked out with four men. "I am Helen the person in charge of New Haven," she said gazing at Nick and Judy. "I am Nick and this is Judy," Nick replied. "Are you two couple?" Helen asked. "No, we are just traveling together," Judy cuts in sharply. "We can take only the scientist, kill the lady," Helen said as the men quickly crackle their riffle.
