I entered the house feeling guilty. Sapphire must have gotten sick of waiting for me and left already. I headed towards the kitchen, stopping short in my tracks as Sapphire raised a brow from the dining table, takeout in front of her. She asked me to sit down. I was surprised as I sat, Sapphire shoving some takeout into my hands. Had she done this for me? I looked at her suspiciously but there was no guile on her face, no subterfuge.
