"Did you have to leave me alone in there, with that man-eater" Wilson spluttered as I tried hard not to laugh at his indignant expression and woebegone tone of voice.
"It can't have been that bad," I said nonchalantly as he scowled at me "And as your assistant" I emphasized with great amusement "I could hardly refuse to leave the room. It would have looked suspicious and she would have been asking questions" I explained.
He huffed "You think I didn't notice how hard you were staring at Sage Silverspoon?" he asked "If you hadn't been sent out, Sapphire Silverspoon would have picked up on it. As it was, she's not happy about the condition I imposed on dating her."
"Why did you do that?" I asked curiously "You had to know it would make her angry."
Still, it was genius of him.
