The dream

1000 Words
Serenity's POV There's loud, enchanting music and rhythmic chanting that swelled each time the bass dropped, but I can't see anything. I'm frightened and the music just keeps getting louder and faster. Finally, I hear someone shouting at whoever is holding me tightly while pushing me forward, making me stumble with my blindfold on. "Really, is this how we treat guests and our gifts?" a lady's voice says sternly, and my captors finally take off my blindfold and unbind my wrists. I rubbed my wrists, looking down at them, seeing the angry red marks on them, too afraid to look up. "Look up, child. It is time you knew the truth," someone said and it sounded like my aunt Bernadet did before she died, causing my eyes to swell with tears. When I looked up, I saw a tall woman with pale skin, emerald green eyes, and flowing raven black hair. She was wearing a long burgundy cold shoulder, velvet gown with a low V cut that showed the top swell of her breasts, and a slit up the side on the right side that went up almost to her hip. "W....who are you?" I whimpered. "You have no need to be scared. As for whom I am, you need not worry about that yet, child. You need to wake up and realize who and what you are, however, and do this quickly. It's time to show them my blessings!" the lady said. Suddenly, an image flashed into my mind of the woman infront of a crowd full of people that I didn't know, nor, did I ever think I had met him. All dressed in dark colored clothes while wearing capes. "My children, it is time I leave you. Humans have all but destroyed us and I need to regroup and rebuild my strengths." The people around started screaming and shouting words of hate and anger until she held up her hand. Silently commanding them to be silent and calm down. "I know that you are all angry, but before I go. I make a promise to you. No, I give you a Prophecy. When it seems like all hope is lost, I will send a light to guide you all. This light will come from unexpected things. But as for everything, it is worth the wait. It will not be easy for this light. There will be turmoil and it will have to fight. When it gets here, it will need to be guarded and watched, else it will be snatched and diminished." Next thing Serenity kept hearing, "wake-up. " being repeated. "Wakeup, you stupid slut," was the first thing I heard when I woke up. Grunting, I rolled over to see my clock read 9 AM. "S**t," I muttered under my breath after looking up and seeing a blonde-haired, blue-eyed, thin woman that I knew, Luna Casity, and knowing she was likely going to beat me, starve me, or worse, torture me to the brink. "I'm sorry, ma'am. I felt ill. I will get right on everything." I whimpered to Luna Casity. I slowly crawled from her bed to the stairs, knowing the second I stood up to walk she would knock me down or slap me. You see, I am nothing in this pack, no one, and no one would bat an eyelash if something terrible happened to me, or so I am told. They may have "saved" me when I was young, but I'm not a wolf and they surely didn't care about a witch like me, since witches keep causing problems here. "Oh, you better," the blonde barbie of a Luna growled at me, "and if I catch you sleeping, eating, or otherwise slacking off before this packhouse is spotless and ready for our guests, I will make sure they torture you so bad you'll beg me to kill you." I knew better then to utter a sound, so I just nodded, knowing that Luna would keep to her promise and worse, she would make sure the whole pack was involved. "Oh, and one more thing. There will be a ball this afternoon, so insure the grand hall is properly decorated as well." "Y...yes, Luna," was my dull, almost robotic reply. As soon as Luna Casity left, I ran down the stairs and began my work. Luckily, no one really messed up any of the work I did yesterday, so I didn't really have much to do in the packhouse as far as cleaning goes. It was the grand hall that was torture. I am a 5'6, wirey girl with long red hair and blue eyes that attracts even the smallest bit of light. The hall's ceiling is 12 feet and it has huge windows that let in a lot of sunlight. See the problem? I'm not considered short in the slightest bit, but still, I am way too short to get everything clean on the ceiling, even with the help of a stepping stool, and with all that sunlight my blue eyes will definitely be killing me by the time I am done. Thankfully, after several hours of struggling, trying to juggle s**t up ladders, and working my a** off, it was 3 PM and I was finally done. I thought, hopefully, I could go eat. At least, that was until Bell came running in. "Cece, Luna is on a rampage again and she is looking for you." Bell said as the 12-year-old wolf ran up to me, calling me by my nickname that she only used for me and looking like she may have a heart attack at any moment. "What does she want? What happened this time?" "The cooks messed up. They couldn't bake your gooey chocolate chunk cookies and mashed potatoes. She says if you don't come fix this mess, she will lock all of us up in the cellars for a week with no food or drink." Bell panted, out of breath from running so much to find me.
