I went to breakfast on my first day of work with everyone whispering on the table.
“Am I missing something? Why is everyone whispering?”
“The Prince had fired his personal assistant just before breakfast. It was quite odd because we haven’t heard of anything that he did wrong. He was with the Prince for so long, since they were in college. So, there you go, everyone was thinking of why he was fired. I’m sure a rumor will find its way around.” Mathilda whispered back to me.
I just nodded and kept quiet. Then an idea struck me.
“The Prince will be looking for a new assistant then. Did he announce if he had already made a choice?” I don’t know why, but I whispered back to Mathilda, too.
“No. Nothing was announced about hiring a new one.”
