Chapter 9: The Battle Within

Dawn came quietly, and Lin Yue woke up in the shelter, feeling sore all over. He recalled the experience of last night, and his heart was filled with mixed emotions. He knew that he almost lost his mind and turned into a beast, but he finally recovered himself with the help of Li Mo.

He walked out of the shelter and saw Li Mo standing on the hillside not far away, looking up at the distant sky. Lin Yue could feel Li Mo's inner struggle. He knew that the experience last night was not only a test for himself, but also for Li Mo.

"Are you okay?" Lin Yue walked to Li Mo and asked with concern.

Li Mo smiled slightly, but there was still a trace of fatigue in his eyes. "I'm fine, just thinking about something."

Lin Yue did not ask further questions, he knew that Li Mo had his difficulties. Although the relationship between them gradually built trust, he could still feel the faint estrangement.

"I almost lost control last night..." Lin Yue whispered, with a trace of pain in his eyes. "If it weren't for you, I'm afraid I would have..."

"But you didn't." Li Mo interrupted him, his tone firm. "You finally regained your sanity, which proves that you have the ability to control this power, but it just takes more time."

Lin Yue nodded, but he still couldn't get rid of the fear in his heart. He knew that he still had to face more challenges, and every challenge might make him completely lose himself.

"Li Mo, I want to know more, about the secret organization, about the werewolf tribe." Lin Yue suddenly said, he knew he needed more information to understand the situation he was in.

Li Mo was silent for a moment, and finally nodded in agreement. "You have the right to know these things, especially now that you have gradually accepted your identity."

"The real purpose of the secret organization is not just to control werewolves." Li Mo began to explain, his voice low and serious. "Their goal is to control all supernatural forces, whether they are werewolves, vampires, or other unknown beings. They believe that these powers can be used to achieve their ambitions, and werewolves are just part of their plan."

"Why?" Lin Yue felt a chill, "Why do they do this?"

"Because they believe that the world should be controlled by people like them." Li Mo's tone was filled with anger. "They believe that ordinary humans cannot understand the true meaning of supernatural powers, so they have the responsibility to control these powers and ensure that the world runs according to their will."

"So, they see us as tools." Lin Yue suddenly realized, with a hint of anger in his eyes.

"That's right," Li Mo nodded, "They study, control, and even eliminate supernatural individuals that cannot be controlled. They will not allow any power that threatens their dominance to exist."

Lin Yue felt the anger in his heart gradually accumulating, and he knew he had to do something to protect the tribe and himself.

"How do we fight them?" Lin Yue asked, with determination in his eyes.

"We need time and strength." Li Mo replied, "The werewolf tribe has been secretly organizing resistance forces. We have allies all over the world. Vampires, witches, and even some human organizations are working with us to fight against the hegemony of secret organizations."

"So, you are also part of this resistance." Lin Yue finally understood Li Mo's position. He is not only a mentor, but also an important member of the resistance.

"Yes, my mission is not only to teach you to control power, but more importantly to protect the survival of our tribe." Li Mo's voice was full of determination. "But this road is full of dangers and sacrifices, and every step may cost us a heavy price."

Lin Yue nodded silently. He knew that he could not turn back and had to go on with Li Mo to face the challenges ahead.

"When do we start?" Lin Yue asked. He couldn't wait to participate in this resistance.

"It's not time yet." Li Mo replied, with a calm tone. "We still need to prepare. When you become stronger and we have more intelligence, it will be time for us to act." Lin Yue understood what Li Mo meant. Although he was eager to act immediately, he knew that it was not the time to act impulsively. "Then what should I do?" Lin Yue asked, his tone full of determination. "Continue to train and learn to control your own power." Li Mo replied, "You also need to learn how to use these powers without revealing your identity. In modern society, revealing your identity means exposing the existence of the entire tribe, which will bring unpredictable consequences." Lin Yue nodded, he knew that Li Mo was right. As a werewolf, he not only had to control his own power, but also had to learn to hide his true identity in ordinary human society. "I will do my best to train myself and be ready to meet future challenges." Lin Yue's tone was firm. He had made up his mind and no longer avoided his fate. Li Mo smiled slightly. Although he was still full of doubts and contradictions in his heart, he knew that Lin Yue had the potential to become their hope. However, Li Mo's heart was still uneasy. He knows that as time goes by, the secret organization's suspicion of him will only increase, and the emotional bond he has built with Lin Yue may eventually become his greatest weakness.
