Kasyn's memories as a baby are awful. That little boy stood there watching his mother being tortured cruely. That was the first thing I didn't understand.
Little Kasyn looked so... unbothered the entire time. Like it wasn't a big deal at all that his mother was being beaten and stabbed. I think that my version of Kasyn didn't understand why he was so... okay with all of this as a small child.
I think it can only be one of two things. Either little Kasyn is very good at hiding his emotions, and there is more behind that expressionless face. Or... There was a time when torture was a very normal thing for Kasyn. If he was used to seeing it, seeing it happen even to his mom was probably no big deal.
