11. Geralt The Chancellor

1038 Words
Suddenly a hand grabbed Sophie's body, so the girl entered the line. Sophie was surprised. When she looked, she saw Melisa and Roy. "Don't stand in the front row, or Geralt will finish you off," said Melisa. Her voice was low, but Sophie could hear it clearly. "Why?" Sophie asked. "He's the chancellor of this university. Don't do anything. Just shut up and listen to him talk," said Roy. They looked so calm and watched Geralt. But Sam, standing beside Geralt, just stared at Sophie in confusion. Sam had a worry creeping into her. Sophie accidentally met Sam's gaze. The two looked at each other, and something seemed to flow from their gazes. Sophie heard Geralt's voice giving a speech this morning. Sophie didn't know if this was routine, but she felt strange about all of this. It was like doing military training alone. Today is not even independence day. "Stop staring at Sam, or you'll get into trouble with Sarah. She's his mate. Sarah is very possessive of Sam. But everyone in Wolfburg knows Sam doesn't really love Sarah," whispered Melisa. Sophie turned. She didn't understand Melisa's explanation. "Are they mate? But not love? Then why are they in a relationship? Why not just break up?" Sophie asked. The noises in Sophie's mind made the girl not really focus on Geralt's speech. "Hey, you!" Sam's voice was so loud it called towards Sophie and Melisa. Melisa immediately looked down. The girl seemed frightened. But Sophie didn't. The girl was just confused. "Yes?" Sophie said. Melisa widened her eyes as Sophie answered Sam's call. She gripped her pants tightly. She felt that Sophie was a mistake. Geralt stopped speaking the language because of Sam's shout. He turned to the line. The place where Sophie was standing. Sam walked over to Sophie. The girl just stared at Sam without thinking anything. Everyone was watching Sophie. They muttered that Sophie would be punished for speaking while the chancellor gave a speech. "Come forward!" Sam ordered Sophie. Melisa was silent. Sam's voice is thunderous. She is afraid of the Alpha descendant. "Hurry up!" shrieked Sam Sophie stepped back out of line. She turned to Melisa, who mumbled an apology to Sophie. Geralt looked at Sophie. He raised one eyebrow. Geralt had something on his mind when he saw Sophie's figure. "I told you not to be loud! Why are you talking when someone is giving a speech!" shouted Sam. Sam's voice was so loud it was deafening. Sophie didn't know what to do now. What reaction to give to Sam. Sophie instead looked around the field. She also looked at Geralt, who was strangely looking at her. His face was so passive, expressionless. But Sophie was sure that wasn't his natural reaction. Sophie believed that the man named Geralt was a wise man. After an hour of gathering in the field, the students returned to the dormitory. But not with Sophie. The girl should be punished for talking at the morning parade. "Can I go back to my room?" Sophie asked, standing in the middle of the field alone. While Sam sat relaxed under a shady tree. Sam is with Sarah. The girl wouldn't look at Sophie. She sat behind a tree. "I have to punish you. You're late, and you're noisy too," said Sam. The man spoke without looking at Sophie. He seemed to ignore Sophie, even though he knew she was hot in the middle of the field. Sophie was annoyed. She's talking because Melisa is talking to her. Then why is she the only one being punished? Sophie felt this was unfair. She was even more annoyed at Sam, who kept annoying her. "Are you such an important person in this university? Why are you punishing me? Aren't their other administrators?" Sophie said. "Nothing," said Sam curtly. "Don't talk too much. I have to study," said Sam. Sophie fell silent again. She wanted to beat up Sam, but she couldn't. Sophie was very weak. Sophie hatred for Sam can only be buried in her heart. "Don't hate me so much. I'm just following the rules. Wolfburg is very strict with the rules. You'll find out later," said Sam. "Later, later, and later. How many times have I always heard the word later?" Sophie grumbled. Sophie stomped her foot on the ground. She looked down to avoid the sun. "What kind of university is this?" Sophie grumbled. She couldn't stand the heat, but Sam asked to stand there for another fifteen minutes. "Hello," someone said in a deep voice. Sophie looked up. She saw Geralt standing in front of her. He was much more authoritative when he was around Sophie. "He-hello," Sophie said. Geralt's sturdy body and mature figure made Sophie a little insecure. Sam, who saw Geralt meet Sophie, immediately stood up and ran to Sophie. "Geralt," said Sam. "Why did you punish this girl, Sam?" asked Geralt. "She made a mistake. I have to do my job," Sam replied. He looked at Sophie, whose face was red from the sun. Sam read Geralt's mind. The man was in line for Sophie's personality. He seemed unable to explain anything, even in his thoughts. "She doesn't know about the rules of this place. You should have told her the rules first. I'm sure she came later than the others," said Geralt. Sarah listened to Geralt's voice, though faintly. But she quickly sensed Geralt's presence even though she didn't see him coming. "That guy's involved too," Sarah muttered. "Stop the punishment. Ask Jane into my room with this cute girl. I want to hear directly from Jane. She should have introduced this girl to me first," said Geralt. The man rubbed Sophie's head. "You really do look like him," said Geralt. Sam frowned. He didn't understand what Geralt meant. It seemed like Jane wasn't the only one who knew why Sophie was here. But Geralt also knew about this. Geralt walked away. He walked away from Sophie toward the university. Sam immediately ran after Geralt, while Sophie just stared at them. "Geralt!" call Sam. "You know about Sophie?" "Sophie?" murmured Geralt. He stopped in his tracks and faced Sam. "You know why she had to be in Wolfburg?" asked Sam.
