Mike wakes up to sunlight streaming through his windows, into his eyes, which is weird, because he always keeps the blinds down in his bedroom. The reason soon becomes clear when he turns his head to find Tommy sitting up in bed next to him with a sketch book he must have had in his bag, sketching.
“Don’t move. I’m almost finished,” Tommy orders.
“But…” Mike starts, only to be cut off.
“I’ll make it up to you. Now stay still,” Tommy says firmly.
So Mike does, even though he really needs to pee.
He’s not sure how much time passes. He can’t see his clock, and he doesn’t wear a watch, but finally Tommy puts down the sketch pad.
“Can I see?” Mike asks.
“It’s only a rough,” Tommy warns.
“Show me,” Mike says softly, moving so he’s sitting up, too.
