Chapter 10Unlike House, the yacht didn’t possess any degree of sentience. Instead, Jonty was able to cast a spell that ensured it would react to any changes in the weather that would otherwise send it off course. He also cast a homing spell, which would lead them to Poppa and this unknown island. From his seat up in the wheelhouse, Jonty smiled as he watched Milo and his father sitting and chatting together.
They’re getting on so well. It’s lovely to see. There’s no real reason for me to be up here, but this way it gives Milo and Charles the time to really get to know one another. It’s a shame his mother didn’t think more about him as a person than as another way of scaling the social ladder. Leon has the right connections, but he’s not the right man for Milo. Maybe his dad will see that.
