Chapter 29 (4): Close to you.

"Stop it Van, this is useless!" Dean exclaimed using their links.

Their wolf forms were completely drenched in rain as they continue to their path. The ground was wet and slippery and they can't clearly hear other noises due to the sounds of the heavy rain.

Dean's wolf form run ahead of her and hop infront of her which made Vanessa stop abruptly when he blocked her way. His face holds determination that matches with hers but the difference is, he's determined to stop her. He love her sister so much and he'll do anything for her but this is completely useless. The rain fully washed away Skye's scent, leading them to nothing. If their friend really went here or still here, they will be having a hard time in finding her especially under the rain.

Vanessa doesn't actually bothered by him and just move aside to walk ahead but Dean block her way again. Which earned him an unexpected growl from the she wolf.

"Move." She said.

"No. We need stop. You need to stop." Dean replied trying to restrain himself on growling at her too.

"I know you don't like her Dean. And it's okay. But don't make me stop looking for her. I need to find her." She took a step aside again but Dean move along and block her way for the third time now.

"I didn't say I didn't like her." He started. "I consider her as my friend too. What I don't like about is how you treated her. How you act towards her." Dean added and it silence Vanessa for a moment. She just stared at him.

"She isn't your mate, Van."

"I know that!" Vanessa suddenly exclaimed, growling at her twin brother again..

"You knew yet you still keep doing it." Dean replied with a firm yet calm voice. He doesn't want to match her sister's frustration because it will only make it hard for him to persuade her.

"Liking someone isn't forbidden in our kind Dean." Vanessa replied with much seriousness on her face.

"Yeah, But the consequences are." He replied back. He look at her sister with so much care and pity as he remembered the past. This had happened before. Her sister liking someone that isn't her mate and they even became a couple. It was their fellow student from the college. She's a human but had a knowledge about their kind. She was nice and pretty and smart ,but unfortunately and surprisingly, she's a mate of one of their kind who just live from the nearby town. So they ended the relationship as soon as they knew about it.

Vanessa understand it but it affected her. It kills her everytime she saw the girl at the campus. That's why they stop attending college. "Did you ever think that the day will come and you will find your mate? You'll gonna broke her heart Van. Or much worst, the opposite. I don't want it to happen again."

The she wolf gave her an intense look yet with so much love. She knew her brother is just concerned about her and she's so lucky to have him and she's very thankful. Vanessa think carefully before she said the words that broke her heart a little.

"There will be no heart that will be broken, except mine maybe, cause she doesn't even like me back. And I will not pursue her even if I had a chance. We're humans too, Dean. And like other ordinary people, our heart also desire love from someone who isn't our mate. And we cannot stop it sometimes. Youre just lucky you didn't have to experience it since you already found your mate before you turn eighteen." Vanessa said and her brother silently agreed about it. The face of his mate who just lives next town flash on his mind. And he can't help but misses her so much.

"Don't worry, I will not do anything stupid again. I have learned my lessons. Just let me love her even just a friend. And please, let me find her. I cannot just stand and wait for her to come home. " Vanessa continued with finality in her voice before she step aside and move ahead. Leaving her brother again.
