Becky sat in the car, her fingers tapping anxiously against the leather seats. She watched as Roman disappeared into the house, a knot forming in her stomach. She sat there for what felt like an eternity, staring out of the window at the perfectly manicured grass so green it almost looked fake. Anger bubbled within her, but finally, she could take it no longer. She had to get out of the car, explore the house, and try to make sense of what was going on. Roman wasn’t making any sense. Or perhaps she was the one confused? Becky shook her head. No. The one not making sense was Roman. He had moved heaven and earth, bulldozed over everything and everyone just to marry her, but he didn’t even put up a fight when she told him he couldn’t touch her.
