I was flung through the air, limbs splayed, only to collide with the snow as he tossed me. Rolling, I swiftly regained my footing, my heart pounding relentlessly. My eyebrows shot up as I recognized the masked guy mere feet away, the chilling wind still swirling around, his bat-like wings disappearing in an instant. “Nariel?!” Blind rage battled with the pain surging within me. My fists clenched, nails biting into my palms like tiny daggers. Anger was the most I felt as I glared at him. Whoever hid behind that mask had no idea the torrent of fury he had unleashed. “Goodness gracious!” She chuckled, hands on her chin. “What's all this fuss about? It was supposed to be just a joke! Must be tough... missing your target, and oh... I did forget to mention that I was not alone. I had company.
