Author’s NoteWhen I visited San Francisco in 1983 for the first time, I was astonished and intrigued by this fantastic and unique City.
I found its up and downhill roads, its delicious restaurants, its harbour and the streets of Chinatown all fascinating.
Where else in this day and age can one look out of a restaurant window on the quay when eating oysters and see a collection of sea lions in the bay?
Where else can one eat excellent French cuisine in a restaurant described as resembling a brothel?
San Francisco is unusual, fantastic and always exciting!
