I wasn’t happy when I learned that Cleovanna released Anthony from the dungeons. I was unsure of how I felt about this whole thing. Yes, he was a fool but he still acted darkly. And it wasn’t my place to question Cleo’s choices as Queen. I had no say on how she runs the kingdom. I just hoped her kind and caring heart doesn’t set her up for betrayal.
“Duncan!” Mick called to me as he came rushing up the hill. “Is it true? Did the Queen release the nymph?”
Cleovanna had announced during lunch Anthony’s probation. It went as well as I expected it too, gasps, shocked whispers, angry glances. Not everyone was as forgiving and caring as the Queen.
“Yes,” I answered and held in my sigh. “She announced it as lunch.”
“But how? Why?” He gasped. “After all he’s done?”
