“How are you, mate?” I asked as I walked into her room. I tried to kiss her, but she refused. What had I done to her to keep rejecting me?
“Good morning, King Finn,” she greeted me politely. She bowed her head in total respect.
“What has come over you, mate?” I asked, pulling her closer. “Why are you treating me like this?”
“How? What do you mean?” She asked, as if she didn’t know what I was talking about. “I don’t understand you.”
“Have I done something to upset you?" I asked, trying to be gentle. It had been days since I brought her here, and she hadn’t allowed me to kiss or sleep with her. I thought mates were supposed to be inseparable, but she was different. Was she afraid of me because I killed my soldier?
