Without hesitation, I punched him in the face.
“What have you done to him? Who do you think you are to harm him?” My anger surged as I confronted the scumbag in front of me. If only I had known, I wouldn’t have dragged Keen into this.
“You hit me,” he protested, holding his cheek.
“And I will hit you again.” With that, I pushed him aside and dashed out in search of Keen.
“Keen, where are you?” I called out desperately, scanning my surroundings in vain. Collapsing to the ground, I wept uncontrollably, my tears mingling with the turmoil in my heart.
Amidst my anguish, a growl echoed behind me. I turned to find Keen standing there. Relief flooded through me, and I rushed to his side.
