CHERYL’S POV
I ram my hands through my stack of ripped jeans trying to find the perfect one to wear. On a second thought I decided not to wear jeans. I was going to wear a very short printed dress that is going to show my cute thighs. Since I would not come home before I pass by the hotel to see Jason, I figured that I might as well dress up this morning.
I know this will shock my mum and Rose because I hardly wear dresses but well, change is inevitable. I was embracing the change.
I wore the dress and some brown wedges. I tied my hair in a neat bun. I did some light makeup on my face and applied some red lipstick on my lips. I looked like the popular girls in Hidden vile High and I loved it. I have been the hoodie and jeans girl for too long. It is about time to show those bitches that I can dress up and look good, in fact, look better than them.
I skipped downstairs and my oversensitive nose caught the tantalizing smell of bacon. My stomach gave a loud growl that could have been easily mistaken for rumbling of thunder. I was so hungry.
“Morning mum,” I walked over and grabbed an apple as I pushed my back against the marble counter, a safe space away from the sink.
“Full makeup huh,” Rose walked in and said that to me once she saw me.
“Yea, do you have a problem with that?” My eyes threw daggers at her.
“You are going to school, I don’t think that is necessary,” She said setting the table for breakfast.
“It is my f*****g life Rose, stop meddling,” I was pissed.
“You should f*****g stop pretending that you know everything but you don’t, you are just a teenager filled with stupid decisions” She told me and I rolled my eyes.
“f**k…”
“Stop all the f*****g curses. Everyone sit and let us have our breakfast in peace,” My mother shouted and we all remained silent. We respect her at all cost, you know why.
As we ate breakfast, my mum gave us the pep talk that we should love each other as sisters and we should always care for each other. Well, I was not heeding to that, not after Rose slapped me last night.
“I am going now, I will be late for school,” I announced after I took my used cup to the sink.
“Alright baby, study hard,” My mother chided.
“I will walk you out little sister,” That was Rose talking and I thought that she should just stop with the pretense. She is being a b***h all the f*****g time.
“What is wrong with you, leave me alone,” I said through gritted teeth when we were out of the house.
“I want you to tell me where you were last night,” She sounded determined.
“Leave me alone. I know what I want with my life. Let me be,” I told her and luckily, the bus come and I hopped in leaving her at the verge of tears since I failed to talk to her.
I know that I was pushing her away but she should understand. Now that we are grown-ups, we cannot be close like the way we were when we were little kids.
I looked through the window the entire ride till we got to school. I was not looking at the buildings, don’t get me wrong. I was thinking of last night. I cannot wait to be with Jason this afternoon. I missed him.
“Cheryl, Cheryl!” That was my friend Ivy calling me when I stepped out of the bus.
“Hi Ivy,” She had jumbled me up from my thoughts about Jason.
“How are you, you didn’t reply to my text last evening.” She fumed.
“I am so sorry that I was busy. Anyway, you can tell me now, what is the issue?” I asked her.
“Well, It is Ace again,” She chided.
“What about Ace?” I implored.
“Well, he still wants us to have s*x. If I don’t have s*x with him, then he will dump me,” She said this and I recalled of her constant issues with Ace.
“Do you love him?” I asked her.
“Of course I do. You know that I love him so much,” She told me as we walked into the hallway.
“Then do it with him, prove that you love him. Besides, s*x is sweet if you love the person,” I told her this and it made me remember Jason. How I want him to have me in the afternoon.
“Are you sure about what you are saying? You have always told me to wait till I am ready. You said that you were willing to wait with me,” Ivy told me and I was lost of words. I cannot tell her that I lost my virginity last night.
Before I could answer her, the bell rang and I sighed in relief. It saved me from that talk I had with Ivy.
“We will talk over break,” I told her before rushing to make it in class before I get late. I was going to avoid her for the rest of the day. There is no way I am going to talk to her about the virginity issue yet I am not a virgin anymore.
“Baby, how are you “Nathan greeted me as he sat next to me.
Nathan and I had been dating for two years now and we were taking things slow. We hang out sometimes on weekends mostly to study and play video games. Of all this years though we have never even kissed leave alone s*x. We only study and play video games each time we hang out.
“Morning love,” I partly felt guilty that I slept with a man last night.
Anyway, I cannot blame myself, what I felt for Jason is stronger than what I fell for him and that is why things happened so fast last night.
Nathan is my friend, I am now able to understand that we are better off as friends. People who are seriously dating and in love should have already kissed by now. But we haven’t so, he is technically my friend.
“Hey are you okay?” Nathan asked me when he found me staring at him.
“Yea, I was just thinking of how lucky I am to be with you,” I lied before an awkward silence befell us.
“Did you go through the questions I sent you? “He cleared the air and asked after we pulled out our books from our back packs.
“No, why?” I implored.
“Those questions that I sent are the possible questions that Miss Hellen will set for today’s cat,” He told me and I was shocked.
“What!” I gasped.
“Are you okay?” He implored.
“Yes, I am okay. “ I lied. I had not studied for the cat. What am I going to do? I hate it when I fail. How comes I didn’t study or turn down the request from my sister to go to the Grand Hotel. I had messed up really bad.
“Clear your tables, we are having our cat right now,” Miss Hellen announced and my stomach was a pit of nerves. I was so tensed.
Nathan gave me a thumbs up and I faked mine as the exam papers were passed to us.
I looked through the questions and I was clueless. I couldn’t recall some of the things since I didn’t go through my notes last night.
I tried thinking hard but all I recalled is the way Jason kissed me and that sent a million tingles through my body from the tip of my hair to the tip of my left toe. His touch alone got my pulse rising as heat sipped through my skin as if I was made of paper.
“Hand me your paper Cheryl Bryant,” Miss Hellen took the cat paper from me.
After she left with it is when I recalled that I had not answered most if not all questions. All that time, I was busy thinking of Jason. I couldn’t stop thinking about him.
I have to go and see him.
