20. ARE YOU CHEATING ON ME?

ROSE’S POV

I couldn’t believe that Adam was cheating on me. Not after everything that we have been through. I have always been there for him. I have always supported him. I have been loyal ever since we started dating five years ago. This is a joke, I can’t believe that Adam can simply repay me by cheating on me with some girl.

He has always been insecure with me working at The Grand Hotel but the other day when Rose covered for me, we managed to talk things through and right now we are okay with each other. We are more in love than ever, how is this even possible?

My heart was aching and I wanted answers. There is no way he can treat me like this, not in my watch. My sister could never lie about such a thing. I mean, what will it benefit her to lie about him? I know that she loves me and she is simply looking out for me.

With each passing minute, my heart ached a lot. I couldn’t stay like this. I needed to go and confront him. Who knows, maybe he is chilling with that girl right now while I am here losing my mind.

You know what, I am just going to head there right now. He lived down the street so I simply strolled there. We met way back in High School, we went to the same school then and we were High School sweethearts. I was going to be married to him but he chose to destroy everything we have by cheating on me.

All my feelings are now gone to waste.

I rang on the doorbell annoyingly. He made me this annoyed, he should have known better. Thank God he was the one who got the door for me.

Immediately my eyes landed on him, I slapped him so hard and at least, my anger calmed down for a while, not for so long.

“Why are you slapping me?” He asked as his anger began to rise. I could see it by the way his breathing started being more rapid. His cheeks were also flushed red.

“Where is she?” I pushed him off the door and I began searching for the girl myself. I was not going down without a fight.

“Stop!” Adam grabbed my hand tightly and he turned me to face him.

I couldn’t take it anymore. My eyes started stinging with tears and I was unable to control it. Fresh tears started raining from my eyes like water from a faulty tap.

“You f*****g cheated on me Adam. You knew that this would break me but you did it regardless,” I told him as my voice shook.

Thinking of him with another girl made me feel sad and empty. I loved him so much. I do love him a lot and I am shocked that he didn’t value what we had.

“What are you talking about, you know very well that I can never cheat on you,” He told me but as far as I wanted to believe him, I couldn’t.

“You were with another girl at a club last night,” I pointed out and he chuckled.

“What!” He gasped.

“Stop pretending,” I punched him on his chest.

“I don’t know who is brainwashing you but it needs to stop,” He held my hand and pulled me to the coach so that we could talk.

I wiped my tears and I figured that we should talk. I don’t want him to use me. I should know his true colors early enough before it is too late.

“Who told you all that? I was home last night. My brother can tell you that. I was tutoring him,” He defended himself.

“Stop lying,” I warned.

“You can check our security cam if you want to,” He invited me to confirm the details of his whereabouts and I realized that he might be saying the truth. Maybe Cheryl mistook him for someone else.

“Who told you this mean things about me?” Adam implored.

“Cheryl, she told me that she saw you at some club dancing with another woman, you were all over that girl” I explained to him and he arched his eyebrows up in confusion.

“What! What was Cheryl doing in a club,” This shocked him.

“Well, a lot has happened lately. I am not shocked as you are. Cheryl has become a different person lately. He sleeps out with different men,” I told him shortly about what happened to my sister.

“That is so unlike Cheryl, what happened to her? How did it start?” He asked.

I was supposed to tell her the truth, but recalling that this all started when she went to The Grand Hotel, I chose to let it slide. The last thing I wanted is for him to be worried about me and to be also conscious that what he had been telling me about the hotel is true.

“Let us quit talking about my sister. Let us talk about us,” I told him and he agreed.

“I would never cheat on you Rose, I love you so much. You know that,” He reassured me and I was left smiling.

“I love you too Adam,” I confessed my love for him. All this was coming from the bottom of my heart.

“Don’t worry about someone else, I will marry you in church soon enough, just like the way you want it to be,” He assured me with a smile.

“I can’t wait baby,” I was smiling once again.

He ran his thumb down my cheek affectionately. I met his gaze then I watched as his eyes slowly flickered from my eyes down to my lips and then back again.

I leaned in close and our nose touched. I watched as his head slowly tilted as he leaned forward and captured me in a kiss. I felt his tongue flick tentatively against mine his hand going round my lower back. No words needed to be exchanged. I needed more than the kiss to be assured that he loved me so very much.

THIRTY MINUTES LATER

We took a shower together after our intense making love. I dressed up and she escorted me home.

“Promise me that you will talk to your sister, I am c**k sure that there is something bothering her,” Adam urged me.

“I will talk to her, I promise,” I told him.

He placed a kiss on my forehead before he walked away.

I sighed deeply before I walked into the house. He told me not to rant at Cheryl for lying about him but there is no way I was going to let it slide. She should know better than to lie about my boyfriend like that.

I was greeted by a loud music and some giggling when I walked into the room.

This is a school day, how is it possible that she is not in school. I rushed upstairs and opened the door of her room. I was shocked and loss of words when I caught Cheryl smoking weed with her friend. The girl who looked like a ratchet and a w***e.

“What the heck Cheryl!” I yelled at her but she only laughed at me making me so angry.

I am going to kill her for doing this to herself.
