I fumble the door knob with my hands full. My hands were freezing but it was all worth it . For all the s**t I make Amber go through I had to make it up to her somehow.
I kick the door open and walk in trying to hide the surprise from.
“I have been waiting for you,” Caroline says getting up from her seat. I truly was surprised by the turn of events. Before my eyes was Caroline and not Amber. She walks towards me and pulls me lightly by my forearm guiding me into the small study room. She pulls a chair for me to seat before circling to the other side.
“What are you doing here Caroline? Where’s Amber?”
